The issue with transparency was fixed in STK. The issue with not having
OpenGL 3.1 support on Ironlake (if it is still an issue) should be filed
on Mesa's bugtracker.

I'm also surprised that OpenGL 3.1 works fine for ironlake :) Or maybe
it just uses software rendering for most effects? The
LIBGL_ALWAYS_SOFTWARE=1 works fine (but very slow) with OpenGL 3 either.
