Hi. I think I had it right the first time... Do you have linux-restricted- modules-generic? This packaged fixed/worked for me, and I pulled down a new kernel today. -Ellie donnie [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: I've been experiencing the same problem with linux-restricted-modules with Feisty Fawn

I've been experiencing the same problem with linux-restricted-modules with Feisty Fawn beta. I do have the linux-restricted-modules-common metapackage installed, but it never autoupgrades after a kernel update. Since I need linux-restricted-modules for my Intel 3945 wireless chipset, this means I

I can confirm this. I have the linux-image-generic metapackage selected and today it pulled down linux-image-2.6.20-14-generic. It did NOT get linux-restricted- modules-2.6.20-14-generic and when I rebooted I had no X. Elizabeth -- Linux-restricted-modules not upgraded when kernel is

I also got this problem after upgrading 2.6.20-13 with NVIDIA restricted module enabled. I had to disable it in order to restart with latest kernel. package linux-restricted-modules-2.6.20-13-generic is not available. This is the reason why the automatic update did not pick it up. If I mark the

I'm with Robert- this seems like a design flaw to me. I've got an atheros wireless card, so every time the kernel is updated, I have to hook up a switch and update linux-restricted over the wire. For me, it's not really that big of a deal, but I could never set my parents up with Ubuntu if this
