Lorenco, can you comment which version of the kernel you are using?
Both Alexey and Chris have commented this appears to be resolved for
them with the 2.6.27 Intrepid kernel. Since Alexey is the original bug
reporter, I'm marking this Fix Released for now. Lorenco, if you are
still experiencing
I have seen some intermittent lockups (Caps flashing) but have been unable to
determine the cause
I have to hard power down and do not get any errors.
I do see that we have the same screen driver as well
It also happened 3 times when I was working in Firefox
Any ideas ? This

I've not seen any lockups for a while. The most frequent trigger was
unlocking my display, which I do many times a day and it hasn't happened
recently.

After latest update of my system It seems that locks are gone (at least on
2.6.27-3 kernel). I think that it was fixed by some of these updates:
libgl1-mesa-dri (7.1-1ubuntu1) to 7.1-1ubuntu2
libgl1-mesa-glx (7.1-1ubuntu1) to 7.1-1ubuntu2
libglu1-mesa (7.1-1ubuntu1) to 7.1-1ubuntu2
mesa-utils
The actual version is:
linux-image-2.6.27-3-generic 2.6.27-3.4
I checked also on 2.6.26:
linux-image-2.6.26-5-generic 2.6.26-5.17
Looks like it is fixed.

Does booting back to 2.6.26 resolve the problem for you? I noticed this
same issue, but it also happens when I boot back to 2.6.26.

Indeed, 2.6.26 has the same problem.

Another observation: the problem is observed when compiz is enabled. In
this case trying to lock screen results in the behavior I reported. If
compiz turned off, I can lock/unlock screen without problem.
