The version affected was 2.4.0 in Hardy I believe. Usually MSN group
chat works fine but in very specific conditions it seems to send Pidgin
into an endless loop. Unfortunately I'm unable to perform a backtrace on
the issue as I can't easily reproduce the error and the software
required refuses to
Pidgin 2.4.1 is what is included with Hardy, and what you experienced
the crash with. Pidgin 2.5 included a major update of the MSN protocol,
which is why it's worth testing with this version. Just a check if the
problem still occurs on Intrepid (pidgin 2.5.2) would be great. If you
are waiting
MSN group chat works fine with minimal CPU usage for me. Is this still a
problem with Pidgin 2.5.2 in Intrepid?
