Fresh test result with Lucid:
The actual Kernel version is 2.32.8, the prewious wroted problem (lossed
the enable vireless connection with network-manager panel icon) is
present both Karmic and Lucid if I using 2.32.x kernel versions.

Thanks for your apport.
I'm not sure about your issue. Is Wifi always on after restart/resume or
hotkeys not working?
If first case, please, take a look to this bug #324236, and come back
with your comments.
I'd like you to test with 2.6.32 kernel (karmic). Please, found it here
I tested the your suggested kernel version, because possible urgent, and
not would like rest you.
The change is following:
Lossed the network-manager wireless enable/disable setting.
If I right click the network manager panel icon, I see only auto eth0
menu item, connection information menu
The problem is following:
Wify is always on, independent the hardware switch toggle state (on/off).
For example, if I switch hardware switch is off, the Network-manager
shows wireless networking is enabled, and if my machine founds wlan
hotspots, I connecting not problem. :-):-)

Your linked url, I see only live dvd's. This dvd's contains upgrades,
or this is an official Karmic live dvd only but not containing upgrades?

This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in
it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try
with the latest Karmic 9.10 release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are
available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ .

I have the same problem with my Toshiba Satellite notebook.
The surprising fact: If I remember correctly, with older releases of
ubuntu the USB WLAN device dis- and reappeared on the lsusb list when
switching on and off even if there was no driver and the device was
completely unsupported. I
My Toshiba Notebook type is satelite l300-144, and have an Rtl8198 Usb
wify controller.
What your Toshiba notebook type and what type your wlan card?

I tryed current dayly Jaunty Beta live cd. Have any ydea why not work the
hardware switch my notebook? When I unload the rtl8187 module, the module
removed correct and the enable vireless menu item in the nm-aplet icon is
hidden correct. :-)
Now, if the hardware switch is on or off, I using the
