Understood Steve, and I'm sorry that we haven't been able to help you
with this.
Because mysql-cluster-7.0 is in universe in lucid, the Ubuntu project's
support for it is minimal. If the community has a fix, we'll certainly
put it through the normal stable update process, but we aren't actively

um... but lucid is still in LTS, and this problem is still present
there. It doesn't particularly matter to me whether this bug exists in
precise, especially since if there is no mysql-cluster package in
precise, I won't be deploying precise for this application.
What is the appropriate way for me
Yeah... if you ignore a problem for long enough, it goes away.

The conflict/provides doesn't solve the entire problem. Lots of packages depend
on specific versions of libmysqlclient16, eg nagios-plugins-standard. (Although
this is the natty version it was just as broken in lucid):
Depends: libc6 (>= 2.8), libldap-2.4-2 (>= 2.4.7), libmysqlclient16 (>=
5.1.2
What can I do to help get this fixed in Lucid since it is LTS.
