Jeff Lane, This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any
activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If
so, could you please test for this with the latest development release
of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com

[Dell Lattitude E6420] System fail
Hibernation works for me on a Latitude E6420 in Ubuntu 12.10.
$ uname -r
3.5.0-18-generic
$ grep swap /etc/fstab
UUID=ba9d1a0f-41d2-497f-b78e-d99f3e1572df none swap sw 0 0
I had to create the following file (it was missing)
$cat /etc/initramfs-tools/conf.d/resume
RESUME=UUID=ba9d1a0f-41d2-497f-b

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer
to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest
v3.4kernel[1] (Not a kernel in the daily directory). Once you've tested
the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag(Only
that one
