Ok - Because I would like to see this bug fixed I restarted my server
today (after 6 month uptime) in order to boot the latest official
kernel:

This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in
it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try
with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are
available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/lucid.
If it remains an issue,
I tried if this error is reproducible: It is. I turned off the swappable drive,
but no kernel message showed up with dmesg.
Only when I tried to access the no longer available drive using "fdisk
/dev/sdb" this shell was frozen for some minutes. A parallel SSH login to this
machine did not succee
