Thanks for the response. To be honest, I'd forgotten about this bug. It was so
weird/specific to begin with (only one website ever caused problems). The issue
also seems to have disappeared on upgrading to 14.10.
It never occurred to me to upgrade the BIOS - the utilities are always

I worked around this by editing /etc/network/if-up.d/upstart and
excluding the loopback interfaces aliases from the auto interfaces, the

just unbelievable this bug fix is not included while installing from a
fresh LTS 14.04.02 iso; yes LTS. You know what that means LTS ???
I install an LTS on some friend PC and it is a big fail for a stupid
bug, in front of him. The worse situation to make Ubuntu a weak

I agree with zombie that unit tests are needed. Ideally, you would find
a nice way to fake the OSK and trigger the events it is supposed to
trigger.
About the autopilot tests, I think we have everything we need now. We
need to extend get_keyboard with:

Please attach the output of lspci -vvnn
Also, please install the mesa-utils package, run glxinfo, and attach the
output here.
