Hi Gunnar, Thanks so much for the prompt response. I just finished
purging and reinstalling ubuntu-docs per your instructions and that seems
to have fixed the problem, at least by what I saw in the termin
My machine is a Lenovo ThinkPad and before I ran the DVD I touched the
blue thinkvantage button which put me into bios. From there I selected
escape and ran the DVD. That may have compromised the boot agent. So I
restarted the machine and ran from the DVD with out the Blue button and
I'm all instal
