It looks like your previous installation of mysql was in a very
inconsistent state.
Please can you try purging mysql-server (rather than just removing) and
then re-installing which will clear the record of any previous
configuration

of bacula in updates (xxx6.1) which is confusing apt when you try to

As this bug is still being updated with comments I'm assuming its still
impacting people.
I took a look at the bacula packages in Lucid - they should be using
dbconfig-common to do DB upgrades during packaging upgrade and I can see
the required update scripts at version 3.0.0 (version 11) and 5.0.

AFAICT the bacula director seem to be functional post upgrad
e familiar with the DB upgrade process
(having just fixed it for 12.04) hence why I'm looking at this bug as
well.
So long as you use the dbconfig-common option to configure the
database then the bacula database is upgraded from version 10 -> 11 ->
12 - so the packaging does take this into

there are probably two issues:
1) A potential race condition between cups and samba which means that
samba is unable to lookup the list of printers on startup.
This is indicated by the following log messages in
/var/log/samba
It would be also useful to see the output from:

for anyone seeing this issue as well.

That said TaskAccounting is enabled by default for systemd, and the
default limit is 512.
I suspect that we need to either set this high or to infinity...

Do you have an /usr/sbin/policy-rc.d installed on your servers? This
file is not provided by distro - the warning from deb-systemd-invoke is
just a warning and the maintainer script only calls it for:
deb-systemd-invoke start ceph-create-keys.service ceph-mon.service
