to know that a least one of the two ubuntu boxes have sold well enough to
create a temporary shortage! :D

I've told you why... it's the updated NTFS driver that comes with Gutsy... if
you want read-only then use the old driver... if you want read/write then
resolve the issues of the improper dismount...
But STOP NAME DROPPING... it's driving me mad...
