[ubuntu-uk] Fresh install of ubuntu/linux mint

I think its time for me to upgrade to a newer version. I would like a fresh install. Does anyone know if i can install Linux Mint ( from a usb drive) ? All i have to do is set the periperal as first boot right? Out of interest how many people here prefer mint over the normal ubuntu flavour?

I have to say that I didn't like Mint at all... took me ages to reconfigure it so that it reverted to, effectively, a default Ubuntu. In terms of Linux I think I'm a Ubuntu man through and through - not really sure what Mint is trying to do but it's not my thing I'm afraid. Sean --
