please be extremly careful with applying suggestion #73.
IMHO, this is not the solution.
I tried and is had screwed up my graphics. Cost me some hours to find
the solution because I thought the problem came from the bootloader.
I hope that the hibernate/suspend problems with these card

So that means its not a problem with the drivers. With nouveau and
proprietary drivers there are no icons in the sidebar. This is a problem
of unity.

I still have this problem. It's as though the entire window decorations
are frozen. When using third party themes, the window controls have no
effect for both active and inactive windows, as well as the titles do
not change when supposed to, and only forcibly 'refresh' when you resize
the window.

I hate to be Captain Obvious; but did you try the command:
xsetwacom set Device Name touch on
btw,
in my case the device name was as follows:
xsetwacom set Serial Wacom Tablet touch touch on
11.04 seems to leave touch off as a default.
other options can be set as necessary.

For me the bug is still present. Almost impossible to boot on battery,
with the power plugged, boot succeed after 2 or three times. I think it
still needs some adjustments. Moreover is there any way to deactivate
this module while it doesn't work correctly ?
