Here are my thoughts. It sounds that for the most part you are OK with your
iPhone 5 except wired headphones don’t seem to work reliably and the battery
has a few issues. As for the battery, have you checked if your iPhone is one of
those which qualifies for a free battery replace
For question 1, the answer is yes. When one restores from a back-up, the system
will place everything into the new iOS. If any apps are not accessible to the
new iOS, they will not work. That said, most apps do not have any problems.

In the mean time, you might try recalibrating your iPhone 5's battery
sensor by completely running down the phone, plugging it in, turning it
on and letting it fully charge. You may need to do this a time or two.

Sorry, I misread the message. I thought it said she wanted to restore the phone
back to iOS 7 when she got it. Yes, you can put in iOS 7 encrypted iTunes
backup on an iOS 8 phone. Blame my brain, for still being half-asleep when
reading that. LOL

Hi, unfortunately, the iPhone 6 will not run iOS 7. The six and 6+ his earliest
version was eight. As for a 32 GB model, no there's not one. It only has a 16
or 64 gig model.
