If you see anything called Pretty Park DO NOT OPEN it!!!

I've noticed it in my mailbox a few times this week, and a couple of
people are from the 313 list. I've deleted it everytime, but watchout!

Maybe one of the tekkies on the list could fill us in on the details of

I'd also say their first two LP's.

Besides that, I highly recommend Ryuichi Sakamoto's
B-2 Unit from (1980). Quite experimental and way
ahead of its time. It also features the fantastic
electro dub track riot in lagos. (Check Ken Ishii
Mix -Up CD). it's worth to look for it!!!

Chuck Horn shudder played Barber's Adagio from said remix tonight on WDET.
I almost puked.

Lazy cheese trance laid on top of a complex orchestral piece, robbing the
original of every ounce of emotive power (and compositional integrity) it
has. William Orbit has seriously fucked up.

How's that for hubbub?

(1978) and Solid State Survivor (1979). I like Naughty Boys (1983) as

all 3 are diffrent versions to the lp's so you might want them as well

Hey, I'm not interested in any more YMO CD's either, and I'd like any YMO
vinyl I could get my hands on (of course I have NO money right now either)

But anyway, essential? Well, so many of their songs were unique. Hmm,
Service and BGM are so-so, only %60 good stuff each I guess. (BGM is really
out their, pretty experimental for YMO) But, uh, Solid State Survivor is a
total classic, lots of essential tracks on that one. Do you have a source
for some of this vinyl? If I could come across the single for Rydeen that
would be awesome, that song must have blown people away back then. The
ending when the drums stop but the chords keep going still makes the hairs

Actually, the white horse is heroin. The song goes:
If you wanne ride - don't ride the white horse,
ride the white pony. The white pony is cocaine.
Very 80's. Don't take heroin - use coke.
The funny thing is that White Horse was almost a
bigger hit in the US than it was back here in Denmark !
Laid Back are still livin' large on royalties and sample

the first record to use the bassline from White Horse
was 'The Fuck Shop' by 2 Live Crew back in '89.
Since then, a million people have used it, including

Whats all this about new versions of old releases. I've heard that some of

thanks for finally settings things straight on where the speech first came from,
*Now* can it be put to rest??

yeah I did catch a bit of the Motor Drug bust on channel for that night. I got
the impression it was dealers working within the Motor, but not in conjunction
with the Motor. They played an undercover tape of a undercover cop buying some
roofies from some dude and later showed him assuming the position outside
against a cop car. Then of course they tried to tie it in with the date rape
murder trail currently underway. Isn't it disgusting how the Detroit news media
sensationalizes every little story and brags constantly about being the first to
bring you exclusive reports (most of which are half assed informationally
devoid, non stories) Topping the news tonight, a story you'll only hear first
on WDIV: are your kids really asleep after you've put them to bed? You'll be
surprised what our hidden cameras caught at what just may be your house! :^)

Lets not forget the crippling Blizzard of 2000 coverage which shutdown most of
the tri-county area and sent everyone into a panic, but never materialized. it
was funny how they still tired to salvage the big story even after every
prediction about it was wrong! :^)
