Re: [313] heiko laux?
i quite like his compositions for the mood he evokes. his work is pretty minimal, mainly four on da floor, with very nice chords floatin' all over the midrange. heiko laux is obviously a deep thinker, with the introspect of an astute observer of the detrimental component of society. his work is parallel to vladimir manshansden, jochem peteri, stefan robbers, thomas koner...in that it portrays beauty in a manner which is akin to the beauty which is contained in a negative, which has yet to be processed into a photograph - it's there, but only apparent to the experiencd eye. it's a quite dark viewpoint. forget the re-mixes; they're like taking your painstakingly composed images to the 1 hr fotomat. bond.james bond. - Original Message - From: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <313@hyperreal.org> Sent: Saturday, October 28, 2000 12:28 AM Subject: [313] heiko laux? > Anyone ever hear anything buy this guy?Reviews, opinions? > > > > ~Z > > - > To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > >

Great stuff, really deep soulful mellow stuff. Also picked up some funky electro from 'Mr Velcro Fastener' - you can't listen to serious music all the time and these crazy electro beats and some guy talking about DSP and UMB had me laughing. yeah, ok... i actually kind of like many things he's done too. to me he sounds quite like richard bartz. i'm not saying they aren't talented, i just think that things like basic channel are much more improvised. i really dont like it when the music looses the human touch in the production. that's one of my critiques of bang tech and goa too. anyway, nevermind... Gigolo: Munich To Detroit
I just got this record - Zombie Nation's Kernkraft 400, which came out originally on International Deejay Gigolo Records and has been licensed by Central Station here. It's a very Germanic electro track, very gigolo style. There is a great remix by Miss Kittin & The Hacker with a female voice (Miss K) dropping shout outs to everywhere from Detroit to Munich and all those down with the Zombie Nation, from Drexicya and Hell to Elvis (!). Great synth layers. Has anyone heard it? It's really cool - and funny!

I'll have to listen to it again, but my son was playing it in the car this morning and i thought the first few tracks were horrible. Tell me which tracks you like! Maybe it's nothing to hear before you have your morning coffee. I'm so sick of MCs that can't seem to ride the beat to save their lives. You want to hear something _I_ like -- http://www.mp3.com/marsill I did a remix for them with Tack Fu and I think everything about them is great -- the beats, the flows, and the message. Derrick May Remixes?
Wow. This is really nice, and I was beginning to get tired of the original. Great timing for this release... The excerpt is almost 5 minutes long. What other remixes had D May done? I have a remix from four or five years ago that's sort of trancey of a Scandinavian DJ Marcel or something??? Can't find the record. That's all I've seen.
