Dope Computer was the A side of the record, but that track is called
Flash. Artist is Fix, on KMS.

Re: [313] hefty tour in detroit

2001-09-09 Thread Mike Taylor

Hello,

I have to second Diana's recommendation. Telefon Tel Aviv were absolutely
amazing earlier this summer, I cannot recommend attending this show enough.
This is one of the years best undergound IDM line-ups in the city.

The only thing I want to know is when Cex is coming back to town!

Take care,
mt

If you have the chance-go see this tour! all of the
artists are talented producers.Plus, you can't miss
TTA's nifty labtops and guitars. They played a show
earlier this year at the DC, and were IMHO just
amazing. Check out their new CD if you can.

kudos to carlos for bringing this tour to Detroit.

[313] Track ID Please?!!

2001-09-09 Thread Klaas-Jan Jongsma

Hey Otto,

Orlando komt uit de hiphop hoek, dus eigenlijk is het niet zo raar dat
hij daar ind ie hoek nog draait. Hij draaide vroeger altijd hier in een
hiphop club in Almelo...

Dat was je niet he :))

Fix - 'Flash' on KMS.

And speaking of Orlando Voorn, he was recently listed on the DJ lineup
of a new rb club opening in The Hague here in the Netherlands. I knew
he was a musical omnivore, but that was still a bit of a surprise. I
don't know if he just spins it or also produces it, but it'd certainly
be interesting to hear his take on rb.

I have played in brooklyn at Halcyon (http://www.halcyonline.com)
and really enjoyed myself. It's a sort of coffee house/record store/whatever.

Sunday nights is Undercity hosted by DJ Spinoza. I don't know who in
particular will be there tonight, as the web site updates are rather
spotty.

Atmosphere is more sit listen than dance, and the excellent sound
system is kept loud enough to feel but quiet enough to chat. I like
a good banging club night as well as the next guy, but being able
to drink some Earl Grey, browse through records, and listen to interesting
music is a great alternative.

It goes from 7 or 8 until 12, so you could go somewhere afterwards
if you still have some party in ya.
