Markus Nikolai of Perlon records this weekend (futurehouse.net for more
info interested LA heads), but my butt is wondering what to expect: lush
sexy smooth house, stompin minimal techno or ...? A link to an online mix
would be supa helpful. My butt thanks you and your kind.

2002-01-17 Thread altair
it is a really hypnotic house track with male vocals if i let you down, you
can have the final word.

you can listen to it at groovetech at:
the track starts at about 27 minutes and plays for a while

Any feedback is appreciated. I have scoured the web trying to get a hint on
who this is.

Thanks

Yeah, this is a good record. I play Hot On The Heels Of Love every so often
on the show. You can really tell where Ersatz borrowed some of their ideas
from. I still need to get a cd copy of Second Annual Report if for no other
reason to have a copy of United on disc.

The TG stuff has been reissued for awhile on cd, through the Mute: Gray Area
series. DOA, and Heathen Earth are good too. One thing I do need to get my
hands on is Wreckers Of Civilization. It is a telephone book sized Coum
Transmissions/TG bio. The bit I read was good, I just need to get around to

yup, probably their best album, there are a couple of killer early electro
tracks in there... I think it was reissued on CD a couple of years ago by
Mute, along with most of their catalogue.
BTW, I've seen in The Wire that there should be a new Chris Cosey comp
released, anybody got it ? and also, when is the great Tresor comp planned
for ?
Gwendal

found this on ebay for anyone who's interested, absolutely
 nothing to with
me and I won't be bidding for it either, thought somebody
 might like to
 hear this often mentioned album:

Throbbing Gristle: 20 Jazz Funk Greats LP (Current bid - $6.50)

Hello oh wise peeps

can anyone tell me the names of the following tracks from Mike Grant's set from
the ABadMutha site. They go a little like this:

There are people trying to ?, The extensions of ?, When the day is
. ?
Makes me feel so alive. Makes my life feel so alive x2. Thru the crowded
streets where I have walked. Rushing past with only you.

 the other:

Look in my eyes do you see me the way i see you. Look at me now, do you need
me the way i need you. But it's not right for me to be there it's not right
for me to care. Inside your soul do you desire to touch me. Inside your soul do

[313] art of dance

2002-01-17 Thread Niko Tzoukmanis
hi 2 u all..
i posed a question recently to a listmember,
concerning the 2nd art of dance wl 12.
from his descriptions, the track 'without'
by yennek is included on this release.
now i discovered this acapella version on
the art of dance compilation cd, which has
a different bassline than the 'house mix'
also included on the cd. what i'd like to
know is... is the mix on art 2002 a different
one than the versions on the cd, and does
anyone know about differences between the 12
and the compilation tracks ?

[313] Ewan Pearson

2002-01-17 Thread Phonopsia
Over Xmas I picked up a grip of records (reviews forthcoming), and one of
the stand-out tracks was the Ewan Pearson remix of Russ Gabriel's We Will
Be Turning. It's really smooth deep house with a healthy dose of gospel
oh's and strings. Very different from the original. I've also checked
his 12 on Merrick Brown's Chalant Music imprint. He really seems like a guy
to watch. Any other releases I should be on the lookout for?

everything to get your record collection clean, neat, organized, and sent

You could also check his stuff as Maas for Soma, if you want. It's not
Soma's strongest output, IMHO, though. There's an LP and a few 12s. All of
which are entirely forgettable for me, as I can remember nowt about them. I
think one of them has that Juan Is The Teacher track of which the name is
best thing.

[313] Wizard of Oz electronic LP?

Hi all,

Somone just brought in a very strange electronic version of Wizard of Oz

[313] chicks on speed / le tigre to play sf

2002-01-17 Thread Brian Dillard
went to the last of three sold-out sleater-kinney shows in san francisco
last night and chatted with alex from chicks on speed, who was in
attendence. they're playing the great american in support of le tigre for
two shows on sunday march 10. i highly recommend this show to any bay area
folks who are into the more felix/miss kittin/hacker/peaches techno-pop end
of the electro specturm. the new le tigre album, feminist sweepstakes, is a
pretty great riot-girl/new wave fusion with a lot more DIY electronics than
the debut album, while chicks on speed continue to put out really wonderful
art-damaged punk techno, including a new EP with krautrock revival poster
boys kreidler.

Re: [313] Wizard of Oz electronic LP?

2002-01-17 Thread Vince Woolums
Mort Garson - Wozard of IZ. It's described as 'acid satire' with scathing
spoken word. It's really cool. First track seems like Mills musta sampled
the Moog line... Anybody else heard it??

  Hi all,

Somone just brought in a very strange electronic version of Wizard of Oz
(white label test press on AM) with spoken word rants over the top.
This
is clearly not the movie soundtrack re-done. We've deduced that it was
 from
the late 60's - maybe 67, 68 or 69. Anyone who's ever heard this, or
 knows
the artist, can you contact me privately?

  Much thanks in advance,

I can't check, I have the original edition of the book
with a totally different cover...

I suspect it's not though
might be someone from neubauten or test dept
judging from the instrument played
