Re: [313] Soundtracks and Early Memories
Call me sad, (and I'm sure you will) but I think the theme tunes to both Knight Rider, Street Hawk and Airwolf were infulenctial in putting me on a path towards electronic music. O.T.. Speaking of Knight Rider, someone posted this link to me a few days ago. Its for a David hasselhoff CD. Some of the reviews I found Hilarious http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/stores/detail/-/music/B070S1/custom er-reviews/ref=cm_rev_sort/103-6973435-8051030?show=-submittimeGo.x=10Go.y =6 Some of my favourites Hans Phiszter from Deutschland you can almost hear the creaking of lederhosen as a driving 'oom-pah-pah' beat snakes its way in a fractal baroque spiral around an ecelectic bricollage of disco, rock, country, incredibly, chicago house on the euphoric 'Danice Dance d'Amour' (rumour has it that david himself programmed the thunderous 808 beats). Leekinroyfrom little wheezing, glastonbury Hasselhof oozes Rock spunk Lyrically he swim's in a similar gene pool to the Chuckle brothers and roy chubby brown. Reviewer: Adrian Smallwood from The back of my Hillman Imp. Oh my sweetbreads! This CD is, without doubt, the most frenzied attack on the sensory organs (including the bladder) that I have ever experienced. From the stomping, wendy-House opener Looking for Freedom, to the clownish, pickled-onion tinged I Believe. It's just too much, to be honest. I don't think I'll ever be able to listen to it again - but it's still worth the full 5 stars...and some! I only wish chancers like Richard D James, Nigel Havers and the little chap out of Diff'rent Strokes could come up with this kind of filth! ok, i think i've finally figured out why none of my messages seem to have made it to the 313 list. my e-mail program was sending them in rich-text format, which the server does not like or accept (possibly they had a dispute at one time or another??). anyway if this makes it, someone PLEASE do me a favor and reply to this message, even if its just a blank reply and not an answer to 313-related question I am about to pose. in advance i thank you for your kindness and patience. anyway, enough about that crap...lemme ask you guys... who knows where any stacey pullen dj sets are online (in any format -- RA, mp3, downloadable/sreaming, whatever...)?? I know about the DEMF 2000 sets that are kept on groovetech.com, but are there any others? I'm getting really into his music, but I find myself divided by an absolute enchantment with his more righteous/militant/rockin side (i.e. the blackflag records -- the stand is one of my absolute favorite records i own) and then not so much interest when he produces/plays that more lighthearted, housey stuff (there's a lot of that on those groovetech sets, at least the parts i've listened to -- it almost sounds like the juan atkins legends mix cd in some places -- like just house with an upbeat, funky bassline, which i don't dig as much as some people). so anyway there's the deal with me and stacey pullen, and i hope someone knows where some online material is that i can check out. thank you 313, champ - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

just got a copy of the hawtin/bug 'zombie track'- as my roommate called it. total 7am,light outside, still dark in the party tune. lots of smoke and a few faceless souls wandering around the dance floor. actual sound- supercatchy rolling bass line with typical sparse beats. probably only 110bpm (i'm terrible at guessing that sort of thing-but its defiantely slow) reminds me a bit of PK, but not so dirty sounding.
