[313] DJ table/booth construction
Anyone have a rock solid design (using wood materials) for the construction of a DJ booth/table for events - don't want any "wooden door on top of cinder blocks" type of stuff. Also it has to be able to be created in short period of time (a good chunk of the afternoon). I've bulit one before but it was with another person - this time I think I'm flying solo and I don't want it to come crashing down with the first kick of the bass (or if someone bumps into it). Let me know off list please. MEK - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Whoa. That's a sample? I'd love to hear the original or UGE #3 if anyone can point me in the right direction. The Freddie Hubbard catalog is too enormous to sift through song-by-song and I'm finding the UGE's nowhere. That's by Quadrant Six - that track is sampled pretty frequently by bass producers down in Miami. There are other Quadrant Six tracks about but that one is the killer - for more of that sort of sound I'd recommend Freestyle, Pretty Tony, Debbie Deb, D*Train, Captain Rapp and Garrett's Crew... RE: [313] Lost
Afaik, DU KRU only ever play the second room. They sound bizarre (both by description and by sound) and they are, but as the evening wears on, they seem to get better and more fitting every time you visit the second room, funny that! They're really a perfect band for Lost: very freaky, don't take themselves too seriously, anywhere but in a pit of headz they would be recognized as bloody good musicians, which they are. Most importantly, they're a welcome contrast to the machine-generated music of the main room. But at the same time they do play Future Music albeit with a Jazz-tinge. Balance is a good thing. Another Lost asset. (This club owes me so many beers the way I talk it up! But then, I'm not alone am I? ) k >-Original Message- >From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] >Sent: Thursday, August 08, 2002 3:53 PM >To: 313@hyperreal.org >Subject: [313] Lost > > >Memo from Alex Bond of PricewaterhouseCoopers > > Start of message text > >So, this LOST band, Dru Kru. > >They're a jazz funk band, fronted by a Mr Miyagi look-a-like with turrets >syndrome > >and they play in the main room? > >I thought it was banging tackle only in there, or has it changed? > > > >- End of message text > >This e-mail is intended only for the person to whom it is >addressed. Re: [313] Fw: 10 Years LOST: 25TH AUGUST
At the last Lost in the back room was a DJ called Glynn Braithwaite. Seriously good house DJ! I think he's been playing the last few. Pity John Kennedy never gets to play further up the bill. He's an excellent DJ and deserves to be playing out a bit more. - Original Message - From: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <313@hyperreal.org> Sent: Thursday, August 08, 2002 3:25 PM Subject: RE: [313] Fw: 10 Years LOST: 25TH AUGUST > > Memo from Alex Bond of PricewaterhouseCoopers > > Start of message text > > I've never heard them, I think the last time I went to Lost was around 6 > yrs ago. > > What are they like? Memo from Alex Bond of PricewaterhouseCoopers Start of message text I've never heard them, I think the last time I went to Lost was around 6 yrs ago. What are they like? Techno? For this very special event, the guests are among those who have formed a strong relationship with LOST during its time. Steve Bicknell is joined in the Red Area by Jeff Mills - who himself first played for LOST back in 1993. This marks Jeff's first club appearance in London since he played for LOST on New Years Eve. For those who were present, I need say no more. This will be an exclusive UK appearance from one of the world's finest DJs. Also in the Red area, Fumiya Tanaka is welcomed back to the LOST fold. Since his first appearance at the club, he has returned on many occasions, although not for some time. The Torema records head will be laying down some of his signature tough, minimal grooves on the night and will make the most of his appearance at LOST.
