Well, crap. From http://www.asphodel.com/doc/index.html:

It is with great regret that Asphodel is announcing the
postponement of the Paul Saint Hilaire / Scion show on Saturday
November 15th at the Recombinant Labs Compound. Due to circumstances
beyond our control, this event has been rescheduled for 2004. In the
meantime we'd like to thank everyone who planned to attend
Saturday's show, and invite you to check this site for the return
engagement of Paul Saint Hilaire and Scion.

So everyone go give it up for Stacey Pullen!

that sounds like an amazing night... and isn't that asphodel space
 pretty acoustically/sonically nice?

Yes, the Compound's sound system is amazing -- plenty of bass and
perfectly tuned. Dang. I was really looking forward to that show!

(313) London Spam - Stewart Walker's London debut

2003-11-14 Thread Robert Taylor

We are very pleased to announce that US based minimal techno meistro Stewart
Walker will be performing live in London at CLEVER MUSIC on November 15th 2003.

This will be, much to our surprise, Stewart Walker's debut London performance.
Obviously we are very excited to be hosting Stewart for what promises to be a
very special event. The artist represents the finest in forward thinking
minimalism and is renowned for his cutting edge live performances and his
prestigious output on esteemed labels such as Force Inc, Tresor and amongst
others his own ground breaking label Persona. The club is intimate and the
sound system highly capable of representing Stewart's intricate rhythms and
delicate textures. This will be an event to savour.

So don't miss out on the chance to catch Stewart Walker's debut London gig and
witness the legendary live act that has taken him all over the world to venues
such as the Liquid Room and Tresor. Other guests on the night include Wang's
Lula Electro Elvis as well as Jamie Thomson (Basic Level, Glasgow) turning up
the heat in the electro room. Supporting Stewart in room 1 will be the familiar
faces of Nick Craddock (Valvo), Lakuti (Sud) and Clever residents Mark Alex.

(313) Streaming Audio

2003-11-14 Thread Chris Anglesey

Hello,

I was wondering whether anyone out there knows of any software
that will allow you to convert streaming audio to mp3 ?

If there is such a program in existence is it also not better to
download it via a P-2-P program rather than give your credit card
details to some dubious, semi-legit company that probably don't have a
secure online payment system.

Sorry if this is a rehash of an earlier thread but I really would appreciate
any help.

Chris.

(313) house-music forums ?

2003-11-14 Thread Chris Anglesey

I've been a list member of 313 for around 6 years now and whilst i'm really
into Detroit house/techno etc. i've always wondered if there are any other
forums which cater to across-the-board house music discussions ?

I know a few sites where you can visit and discuss house
music in a 'chatroom' but i'm more into the notion of
sending/receiving daily mails via a forum (ala 313)

Does anybody know of any good ones that are worth
joining ?

Chris.

Aren't these Hybrid Legends same guys who made Cari Lekebusch to

I recall there was a talk of some artist(s) called Hybrid threatening
to sue Cari if he will continue use Hybrid name.

hmmm strange news indeed; this hybrid as band or group or whatever
you might want to call it - i've never heard of them. legends?? duh.
maybe they make music thats not interesting from my point of view but if
they really were big enough to be called legends i probably would have
heard of them. I assumed Hybrid the Label changed it's name because they
shut down the old label and started a new one. But then again, i was
never much into the music released in either label so what do i
know? :)
