(313) Andrew Duke live PA MP3

2005-03-07 Thread Andrew Duke Cognition Audioworks

the live performance I did here in Halifax Friday night
opening for Junior Boys is now online and available for
download or streaming:
http://andrew-duke.com/[EMAIL PROTECTED]
I hate labelling music, especially my own, but to help out
those wondering, it's a mix of electro-ey stuff, idm-ey stuff,
speed garagey stuff, and tech house-y stuff; as with my other
live performances, there's detroit influences in there. the first two
tracks incorporate some samples from buenos aires' emisor
(with whom i'm currently collaborating) and the last track
is a live mashup of kraftwerk's numbers with ciara's 1, 2 step.
comments welcome. lots of other live performance recordings
from me here: http://andrew-duke.com/listen.html
thanks.

Re: (313) Static Revenger

2005-03-07 Thread Michael . Elliot-Knight

We caught his set at DEMF back in '01 was it? He was playing really nice
Latin house music and was excited to get promo'd his CD - I think it was
the Happy People single.
I was disappointed when I actually heard it though. By disappointed I mean
- hit stop on the player as quickly as possible, pry the CD out of the
player faster than the tray would open, look at CD in disbelief, bend the
CD until it cracked into two pieces, chuck the pieces in the garbage, and
haul garbage bag down to the dumpster, call the city and demand they come
pick up the garbage on a Sunday.

I tend to think he was playing the good stuff in Detroit because it was
Detroit and not Miami. If you look at the mix it's mostly
Tribal/Progressive/Hard house, etc. It's for the WMC Pete Tong Paul
Oakenfold loving masses.

I have the Charm Farm album. It's decent. I honestly don't remember what
flavour of decent, because I don't think that I converted it into my
digital catalog, and haven't listened to it in many many years.

I've seen Static Revenger around over the years. Good stuff...

Not sure if this ever made it to the list, 'cause I'm missing over
24 hours of 313 emails. But I wouldn't want anyone to miss this, so
therefor the repost:

Just came across this:

Saturday March 12th - Substance
@ Darkroom bar Chicago

What are you made of? Wax Addict Records and Soul Foundation are
proud to present the return of House icon Chez Damier (Prescription,
KMS, Track Mode) as their very special guest along with residents
Brian Gardner and BJak. $5 cover after 11pm. 9pm-3am.

I can't go myself, since I'm in Holland, so not really in the
neighbourhood. But if anyone's planning on going to this, I'm very
interested in reading a report.

I wonder if he's planning on releasing some new stuff as well

(313) Denver this coming weekend? Any suggestions?

Hello all,

I am headed to Denver from Friday, March 11 to Thursday, March 17.
Anyone know of any events to head to? Or clubs that would have good
music?

What about record shops? Any ideas? I wouldn't be opposed to heading
to Boulder either.

And since someone might know -- What about a good shooting range? yeah,
like the kind where you pop off a few rounds. No need for gun rental

Thanks for any and all info you can give me.

it's my only old target. got it from a guy in chicago. had to chase him

and the great 'I might do something wrong' in the mix that theo parrish
played on 'these days and time 1' ... you won't believe how long I'm looking
for that mix, as it is released in quite a few different ones.

kudos to Funky Chocolate!!! guess I never had such a quality compilation in
