(313) Andrew Duke live PA MP3
the live performance I did here in Halifax Friday night opening for Junior Boys is now online and available for download or streaming: http://andrew-duke.com/[EMAIL PROTECTED] I hate labelling music, especially my own, but to help out those wondering, it's a mix of electro-ey stuff, idm-ey stuff, speed garagey stuff, and tech house-y stuff; as with my other live performances, there's detroit influences in there. the first two tracks incorporate some samples from buenos aires' emisor (with whom i'm currently collaborating) and the last track is a live mashup of kraftwerk's numbers with ciara's 1, 2 step. comments welcome. lots of other live performance recordings from me here: http://andrew-duke.com/listen.html thanks. andrew -- Andrew Duke scoring/sound design/source http://andrew-duke.com Cognition Audioworks label [Andrew Duke, Foal, Clinker, Granny'Ark] http://cognitionaudioworks.com -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Re: (313) Static Revenger
We caught his set at DEMF back in '01 was it? He was playing really nice Latin house music and was excited to get promo'd his CD - I think it was the Happy People single. I was disappointed when I actually heard it though. By disappointed I mean - hit stop on the player as quickly as possible, pry the CD out of the player faster than the tray would open, look at CD in disbelief, bend the CD until it cracked into two pieces, chuck the pieces in the garbage, and haul garbage bag down to the dumpster, call the city and demand they come pick up the garbage on a Sunday. I tend to think he was playing the good stuff in Detroit because it was Detroit and not Miami. If you look at the mix it's mostly Tribal/Progressive/Hard house, etc. It's for the WMC Pete Tong Paul Oakenfold loving masses. Pop Will Eat Itself was a bit too cheesy for me, but Clint Mansell from the band has gone on to do good soundwork on some films: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0543739/ -- Andrew Duke scoring/sound design/source http://andrew-duke.com Cognition Audioworks label [Andrew Duke, Foal, Clinker, Granny'Ark] http://cognitionaudioworks.com -- No virus found in this outgoing message. But I wouldn't want anyone to miss this, so therefor the repost: Just came across this: Saturday March 12th - Substance @ Darkroom bar Chicago What are you made of? Wax Addict Records and Soul Foundation are proud to present the return of House icon Chez Damier (Prescription, KMS, Track Mode) as their very special guest along with residents Brian Gardner and BJak. $5 cover after 11pm. 9pm-3am. I can't go myself, since I'm in Holland, so not really in the neighbourhood. But if anyone's planning on going to this, I'm very interested in reading a report. (313) Denver this coming weekend? Any suggestions?
Hello all, I am headed to Denver from Friday, March 11 to Thursday, March 17. Anyone know of any events to head to? Or clubs that would have good music? What about record shops? Any ideas? I wouldn't be opposed to heading to Boulder either. And since someone might know -- What about a good shooting range? yeah, like the kind where you pop off a few rounds. No need for gun rental either -- that's covered. Thanks for any and all info you can give me. -mike

The Love Of My Own it's a cover version i'm guessing it's my only old target. got it from a guy in chicago. had to chase him for 1/2 a year after i had sent him the money ($40 at the time) and then he sent a copy with "JACK WITH M AND PARTY" written with white marker over the whole side b. damn. at least he sent something though. beauty of a track. now i still would like to have larry heard's dub version on alleviated [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: oh yeah, I forgot, I'm most listening to a different mix of Larry Heard's "A love of my own" off Target. oh, thinking about it, it might be "mystery of love" actually. (313) the underground classics vol-1 on funky chocolate
hi there... u, this compilation seems really to be sweet like chocolate :) got my copy end of last week, contains the moodymann mix of norma jean bell's 'baddest bitch', rick wade's 'angry pimp', mike huckaby's 'luv time' and the great 'I might do something wrong' in the mix that theo parrish played on 'these days and time 1' ... you won't believe how long I'm looking for that mix, as it is released in quite a few different ones. kudos to Funky Chocolate!!! guess I never had such a quality compilation in my box but the 12inch releases of Funky Chocolate are pretty hard to find, especially 01, 02 and 04 ... any ideas, tips, links??? irie dUb
