(313) UR live at the LimeLight
http://basiclanguage.net/download/live%20at%20limelight.mp3 Is this with Mills as DJ or it already with Alan Oldham?
(313) New Mills cd, etc.
Does anyone have info on this relaease? http://www.discogs.com/release/544601 Is it availble outside of Japan yet? The discogs notes say that it's a US release, but it doesn't seem to be available from any known outlets. Also, some nice pics of Mills live with a 909 and Scion (does this mean that a new release of theirs is in the works?) performing can be found here http://blog.excite.co.jp/jeff05 wojtek

(313) depeche mode = drexciyans?
im sitting here watching the new depeche mode video (the track is pretty nice actually, i might have to give this album a chance after not liking their last 2) and there's all these weird scenes in the video of a computer generated underwater vessel driving around with them in it, totally straight off of some drexciya artwork. i wonder if maybe they or the art director for the video had any inspiration for this? tom

I'd guess Mills, per 14:18 The Punisher! 27:51 you want more punishment?' 29:10 It's the Punisher besides, the sampling-scratching sounds VERY Wizard. Re: (313) depeche mode = drexciyans?
They're very dismissive of Detroit techno in their (auto) biog, I checked the index, at least Dave Gahan was quite patronising about that early recogintion in Detroit. I doubt they follow it on the basis of that. im sitting here watching the new depeche mode video (the track is pretty nice actually, i might have to give this album a chance after not liking their last 2) and there's all these weird scenes in the video of a computer generated underwater vessel driving around with them in it, totally straight off of some drexciya artwork. i wonder if maybe they or the art director for the video had any inspiration for this? tom

Re: (313) I thought this was interesting
This is a low-tech version of this: http://www.elpj.com/ -- the $15000 laser turntable. I love the sound samples he got out of his scanner, though. There isn't much high frequency in them though which I suspect was the result of high frequency wiggles being smaller than the scanner resolution, and that continuous flangy sound is an artifact either of scanner distortions or his algorithm. (313) Mills CD (was Detroit Dj's/Live sets to download)
-Original Message- From: Garrett McGrath [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: 24 October 2005 23:39 the 7's were some of the best stuff i've heard him do lately Heartily agreed. In a (work) rush yesterday I skimmed my 313 mails, opened the discogs link but failed to spot this was a compilation of them. Now I think I'd like to get it but have deleted the mails saying where it was available. Just paid my first visit to the oft-mentioned Axis store and though I can buy sweat pants there if I want I can't find this release - maybe because though it's a nice looking site it's not too user friendly when it comes to looking for a particular item (maybe in line with Mills' only those who struggle shall be rewarded ethos). Or was it just available in Japan? What tips do UK / Europe peepz have about getting stuff sent from over there? One place I haven't shopped from yet.
Re: (313) depeche mode = drexciyans?
It's a very strong album, pretty dark again but to my ears it sounds much fresher than Exciter f.e. Some of the tracks are written by Dave Gahan and they are really good Give it a try! (313) selling vinyl - suggestions?
Is eBay still the best place to sell vinyl? It seems like it's saturated with people trying to sell records and only a select few titles actually being bid on. I'm going through my collection and hope to do a major purge of some techno that I'm just not playing anymore. MEK
Re: (313) selling vinyl - suggestions?
One approach is to create a v. basic webpage with a list of the titles and then post it on 313. That's been done before quite successfully. Re: (313) selling vinyl - suggestions?
You can also post a link to idm_mart, whether you are using eBay or not. As long as the music bears some relationship to electronic sounds (and this can be stretched - I moderate there, so I can say that :-), you can sell there. We have about 360 members or so worldwide and it's pretty low traffic. Search on yahoogroups for idm_mart; you can choose not to have eny email sent to your own account if you wish. jeff One approach is to create a v. basic webpage with a list of the titles and then post it on 313.
