(313) TechnoTourist.org
Attention techno-community: TechnoTourist.org is submerged, when the time is right we will resurface... After years of giving the world an insight into the Detroit techno scene we decided on May 18 - 14:02 that TechnoTourist.org will no longer exists in its current form. The reason for this is that the TechnoTourist are currently busy on other projects. One of our goals is to make an archive available with the information stored on TechnoTourist.org website. The legendary interviews with great artists like Drexciya, Derrick May, Jeff Mills, A Number of Names, Morgan Geist, Abdul Haqq, DJ 3000 and many others will not be lost. We want to thank all the technotourists around the world for their help. When the time is right we WILL resurface! TT - out

Re: (313) Test...
I don't know why people do 'test' posts. There are three reasons why people's posts bounce: 1. You use an account other than the one subscribed to 313 to try and post. 2. You write something using a short list of US English profanity, the name of a prominent auction website, and the names of a couple of people who were banished forever from 313 years back. 3. You send message in any format other than good old 1976-vintage old school plain text. Multipart Mime gets bounced. No you can't use 64-point fuschia banner texts in your post, just 8-bit ASCII. Ümläüts, Tilde and Àccènt Grave are A-OK.

4. I can never send a mail direct to the list - I have to reply to an old mail and change the subject header. -Original Message- From: Kent Williams [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: 20 May 2006 18:33 To: /0 Cc: Mark S. (313) Wherein I praise UR's Scalper
I know this record came out last year, but it seemed like it didn't really get the attention it deserved. The more I listen to the title track the more I love it. It's one of the most *evocative* techno tracks I've heard in years. It manages to mirror Native American music and still be truly techno. Some of the older UR Indian-themed tracks struck me as a little gimmicky, but Scalper . . . the thing positively seethes with deadly intent. A devastating track. It's grown on me like a virus. I only wish it was a couple minutes longer. Check it out on Detroit Digital Vinyl if you slept on it the first time around. - bp
