Now if we could just get French TV to use subtitles instead of dubbing over the English!

The future of electronic music performance is in learning to customize your own software and setup, to make performances that reflect your unique take on the music (the same is true for production). The future is not in these plug and play apps. excellent point and I agree 100 percent no technology will solve that problem though MEK

Yes, but once again, advanced technology alone will not automatically imbue folks with creativity that was not there to begin with. part of this is because the price of tech is tumbling but part of it is some of the creative possibilities made available by this technology are very attractive. robin... For those that rely on technology to be creative, the advances in technology will also set the limits on their creativity, hence their creativity will be both unfolded and limited by the functions that a particular technology has to offer. Just because a technology is available and inexpensive does not automatically mean that the music made with this advanced and better-than-anything that may have come before it functionality- and feature-wise technology will result in more beautiful, complex, and aesthetically mind-blowing music than music made with technology that's seemingly inferior. As a case in point, listen to the complexity and beauty of some pieces on Autechre's first album, or the filtering on and speeding up and slowing down of loop sequences of the Kaos (Juice Bar Mix) on the b-side of Strings of life. In the latter you may hear effects not unlike those found on the loop machine found here http://www.redsound.com/ . Wojtek

(313) Eddie Fowlkes - Welcome to my world
Bought it off detroitdigitalvinyl (and will probably get the vinyl later). If you like Eddie I think you'll like it. It's funky as hell, and full of that unmistakable personality. (I'd comment on specific tracks but I think some of the track titles are mixed up). Anyway, there's variety in 'styles' and tempo, good sounds, good melodies, lots of those glidey basslines, etc.. -- Jamil Ali (416) 364-9227 ext. 31 www.orcsoftware.com
