2007-08-13 Thread robin

With that, I'd like to publically thank (313)'s Robin Pinning,
[EMAIL PROTECTED] and Bond ... Alex Bond for taking the
time to spend 8 hours with me in Manchester a year ago, showing me
all around the centre of the city (where all roads meet, waiting
for you) and to the old Haçienda location as well as the old
Factory offices. It was a really emotional experience for me to
finally make a pilgrimage to the place responsible for so much of
the music I held dear. And Tony Wilson is in large part responsible
for my having made that trek. My thoughts are with Yvette and all
the Factory fans around the world. Mr. Manchester indeed.

It was a great experience for me too Greg as I learnt a few things as
we went around.

Such a shame to see someone go early like that but I think he was
suffering more than he let on to the press. At least he's at peace now.

Such a shame as he wasn't that old. At least he's not suffering now.

RIP Tony.

Mark Verbos did a DJ set a while back that people mistook for an old
Mills Hood set from Limelight. Not sure if that was hype he created
himself or what but I heard him do a pretty decent retro acid set
last March.

Verbos has been blowing away crowds for the past year (at least) with
his traveling 303 show. There were some sets online from last year iirc
from some of those shows. Awesome was the word I used to describe it.
Proper bouncy, chi-troit-ey, shuffley, jackey acid loving. I'd go. Imma
see if I can find one a dem sets still knocking round.

Ps. Anybody got that fake millshood set, I'd like to hear it.
Impersonating two old masters in one set? Chek!

(313) visiting Boston / Philadelphia / NYC

2007-08-13 Thread Guilherme Menegon Arantes

Hi folks,

Will be visiting these cities starting from next saturday to Sept 10th
and would like to know if there is any 313 related or general music
event that I should not miss.

Tips about 2nd hand shops in those cities are mostly welcome, too. I am
mostly after disco, early house, jazz/funk, and the odd electronic bits.

And if any locals are up to meet up for a beer or two, please let me
know in pvt.

Greetings from the south,

G
