Re: (313) DEMF Preview -- My 2004 Movement Photos
Very great pictures, enjoyed looking at them. Lot of friends are on and this reminds me how much I miss Detroit, I know where I'll be in 2009 :-)... Thanks for putting them up Kent. -- Dimitri Pike http://wildtek.free.fr http://www.myspace.com/wildtek
Re: (313) John Foxx Influence On 313
I went to his performance at ACMI here - he performs a live score to a collage of found film entitled Tiny Colour Movies - and it was superb! He produces the most beautiful melodic techno ambient sounds. He did a QA after and spoke of how, while he loves old film, he feels more comfortable with digital technology for music-making as analog is less reliable. That said, he uses both. I noticed that there were lots of Gary Numan fans there and everyone was discussing the Yaz(oo) reunion. I also saw a few dudes around 20 in Presets style stovepipes. ;) Interesting experience. I think you can buy the score to TCM on his website - definitely worth checking. He was also talking of how cityscapes inspire him - the brutalism of London architecture in the '70s inspired his Metamatic songs more than any contemplation of the future. He came from the gritty North to London in the '70s and it was real culture shock. That's all I recall for now! [Even as a minor Ultravox fan]. I can't remember who bought it, but it wasn't me. I was well put-off from that point. I've never knowingly heard another by Foxx since, I'm afraid. But I feel bad for neglecting. So if anyone has any must-listens, starting points etc, I would really, really appreciate it if you posted 'em here. Ta und happy Friday. It's funny as Foxx's camp claims different. I gather Foxx didn't like Ultravox much with Midge but I really loved that era of theirs. Midge's daughter has a band now, been meaning to Google them. Please, do not blaspheme I will not hear of Ultrasheen Metamatic's on the decks Ure is just a load of dreck - Greg (still waiting to hear about Foxx's influence on 313)
(313) New Acidic Mix...
I will post a tracklist soon. http://www.robotdj.net/getme.php?id=3393 Enjoy.

Thought it worth mentioning that Mr Foxx adds his vocal prowess to Never Been Here Before, off Jori Hulkkonen's new album 'Errare Machinale Est'. http://www.discogs.com/release/1263553 Cheers, Wes -- http://www.myspace.com/westonprince On 5/12/08 6:32 AM, Cyclone Wehner [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: I went to his performance at ACMI here - he performs a live score to a collage of found film entitled Tiny Colour Movies - and it was superb! Here are my photos from 2007: http://www.flickr.com/photos/chromedecay/sets/72157600270169761/ I know I have photos from earlier years, too, but never uploaded them. I may try to do that at some point myself. Bill On Sat, May 10, 2008 at 10:03 PM, Kelly B. I should really scan those at some point. That was the year that I had a press pass which was all access, so I was able to get some very close pics of Amp Fiddler on the main stage, Kenny Larkin from right by the stage monitors, Sean Deason and Kelli Hand behind the main stage, etc. I found these today on my studio machine, where I'd forgotten I had them. They were briefly on a server from my work, but they've been hidden away for nearly 4 years. -- http://www.mamapop.com http://kdiddy.org -- http://www.billvanloo.com || http://www.chromedecay.org
