Re: (313) Must-see stop-motion video
the video kind of looks like a knock off of The Thing done with GI Joe figures. if you have never seen the thing it is an awesome movie from the 80s with kirk russell and wolford brimley. the music was pretty cool, i do like tracks that build on the emotion like this one. scotto On Jul 18, 2008, at 2:59 AM, Jeffrey Richards wrote: that was good... dunno if anyone cares but rephlex released a 4x12 set of BBC radiophonic workshop music a few years ago... also, I have a documentary about the workshop and the amazing work they did over the years. if there is any interest, I'll upload and share it. - Original Message - From: Placid [EMAIL PROTECTED] ouse.net To: Martin Dust [EMAIL PROTECTED]; Three-One-Three 313@hyperreal.org Sent: Friday, July 18, 2008 6:46 AM Subject: Re: (313) Lost tapes of the Dr Who composer hehe im just listening to the bonkers dancey squelch one now Martin Dust wrote: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/7512072.stm Rather interesting article and sound files on Delia Derbyshire m -- Playing - 2nd August - Under_score - The Tube - Bristol -30th August - I Love Acid - Ginglik - Shepherds Bush New Blog - Full MP3s of rare, wierd and wonderful acidic nonsense - http://blog.acid-house.net Placid on the t'interweb - http://www.acid-house.net Placid's Muzik Jamboree - http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=12854449841 Live on Future-music.co.uk every other Thursday - 8pm - 10pm Live on purple-radio.co.uk every other Thursday - 6pm - 8pm

(313) Raiders of the Dark Beyond The Dark Remixes
I think this release is brilliant: http://www.boomkat.com/item.cfm?id=65270 The original is lush, but the remixes are by Galaxy2Galaxy and DJ S2, and bring the Detroit funk. In perusing the 313 archives (so I don't look like a complete chump) -- the S2 remix has been around since Santiago put it on his 2005 mix CD. The 12 is from last year, but Boomkat just added it for Mp3/Flac download release. The Raiders of the Lost Arp Album Arrival and Tema5 are pretty sweet as well. There used to be a lot of talk about the Berlin/Detroit axis how about the Italy/Detroit axis? ;-) Raiders of the Lost Arp's home label Final Frontier is Italian but I imagine the name came as much from UR as Star Trek.

I think her Radiosonic album was reissued recently as well. At least, the copy I saw looked well taken care of and that just does not happen to old records in a radio station. Really? So that's why the creator of the video posted this on the youtube page: Directed by Simon Gesrel and Xavier Ehretsmann thanks to their favourite toys... the GI Joes ! The video is an hommage to the director AND soundtrack composer John Carpenter, especially one of his masterpieces : THE THING. ;-) MEK Scotto [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote on 07/18/2008 08:38:41 AM: the video kind of looks like a knock off of The Thing done with GI Joe figures. if you have never seen the thing it is an awesome movie from the 80s with kirk russell and wolford brimley. the music was pretty cool, i do like tracks that build on the emotion like this one. scotto On Jul 18, 2008, at 2:59 AM, Jeffrey Richards wrote: that was good... Re: (313) Raiders of the Dark Beyond The Dark Remixes
Final Frontier and UR/Submerge have had a very close relationship since the early days (early 90's) If i'm not mistaken Marco Passarani, was heavily involved in getting UR releases out to the Italians via his distribution co. UR played live as Timeline for Final Frontier's 10th anniversary in Rome a few years back... this was one hell of a show!
