Re: (313) what's rockin' my box lately 313 and related wise
I've just caught up on the last six months of shopping but I don't recall which of that stuff is recent. I got a number of things that I've not seen bigged up, so I'll do so here. I got some stuff from Orlando Voorn with Blake Baxter, Ibex, Santonio, and I think that's it for the Detroit stuff. All of these guys had multiple releases that are worth listening to. The new Thomas Fehlmann album sounds nice, although I've only really listened to a couple of tracks properly. I agree with Jacob Arnold's review, that it would be nice if some of those tracks were longer. Other stuff from artists that have been discussed here periodically, but not recently: Wayne Gardiner featuring Ras Anthony on CIMA is good. It's worth checking out the rest of the CIMA catalogue as well. The Tommy Bones and Qebass releases are tasty. Digital only on Traxsource and Juno, IIRC. I found a really good Nubian Mindz release called Sellouts that I've not seen mentioned before. Reminds me of where they were circa Scattered Snares. Pretty fierce. There was a good P'Taah release called Everything is Naturally Free. Nice to hear Chris Brann back on form. Haven't heard the Taho mentioned, but love his record on Beretta Red that came out a couple months back called Red House and the Brian Kage edit of the B-side track. Feeling that Legowelt remix of Ricardo Miranda for sure; charted it last month. Also feeling the Quantec album and the Hieroglyphic Being stuff as well, and of course, great to see Shake's EP on Frictional hitting shops cos it is ACE. Andrew.

(313) wanted: somewhat code-savvy person with Apple PPC + development tools installed (and Snow Leopard on Intel too!)
There's this wicked sound mangling program called Paul Stretch, and when I ported it to OS X, it became the one post to my blog that consistently gets hits. Now, I've gone back and done a refresh -- found more current versions of the libraries it depends on, tinkered with my build scripts. My problem is that I only have access to OS X 10.5 on Intel in order to do builds, and the build system I'm using won't do fat binaries. So I'm looking for someone to build up a version for OS X on PPC. That's been the #1 request I get -- it doesn't work on older Macs!

(313) Bleep43 party With Terrence Parke, Mika Vainio & Donato Dozzy
Hello folks. I hope some of you will again come over to south east London to join us in another evening of premium electronic music entertainment on Friday April 16th. In the last few years, we seem to have got into a groove of having at least one Detroit star at each of our events and this one is no different. I've no need to wax too lyrical, I can just mention the name Terrence Parker. I think his reputation speaks for itself. It's a similar situation for another guest of ours this time, Mika Vainio. I could use words like 'legendary' and 'influential' in signposting his origins in Pansonic, but why bother - 313 subscribers are the cognoscenti after all :) Nevertheless, please do note we have tried our best once again to pull out as many stops as possible to bring you another night to remember and we are aiming to impress. If that hasn't happened so far, dropping the name of our last headliner, Donato Dozzy might or might not do the trick. In any case, if those of you who can make it would come along, we would be honoured and can pretty much guarantee you a very pleasurable evening. More details and tickets are available as ever on our website: http://www.bleep43.com/ Thanks very much for your time. Best, Ken
