Re: Moritz Von Oswald Contact Infromation

2015-03-19 Thread Richard Hester
Thanks to the various people who have suggested/offered alternate
channels for contacting Moritz Von Oswald. I have one discreet channel
(very basic, hee, hee) going at present (thanks, Mr. Kendrick), and
would rather not bombard him with a bunch of messages from all over.
I'll wait and see what happens - I could surely use some help sorting
things out. For those who are interested, I'm also doing a John Tejada
retrospective the first two Fridays of May - that also will have its
rewards.

Commons music and remix projects

2015-03-19 Thread Steve Robertson
I am inspired mostly by a period in electronic music between 1990 and
2001. I am deeply interested in Detroit electro techno music,
especially Underground Resistance, Jeff Mills, Drexciya, DJ K-1, Aux 88,
as well as great British artists such as Neil Landstrumm and Aphex Twin,
among many others. I started to make music a couple of years ago and I
reached a point where I now feel as much lost as I feel I found my sound
(I'm still at a loss to know what exactly my next track will be).

I posted all what I have to share on my Soundcloud page
(https://soundcloud.com/kerr-knoll) with 24-bit audio (44.1 kHz)
downloads and an explicit creative commons license, to mix share
non-commercially. Music to be shared freely. I'll be making completely
new tracks in the future. All of these are free and I am comfortable
with that.

I'd go further and offer commercial rights to remix projects. The
details of that would need to be discussed but in principle I would
welcome commercial remixes that were authorised by me and I would not
expect a share of royalties. I've no idea if that sort of arrangement
exists already, but folk in the business should be able to figure it out
if there's an interest. As well as the downloads available on Soundcloud
I can provide additional assets on request.

Please share with anyone that might be interested in either the tracks
or the remix opportunity.

Thanks

Steve

Thanks for this Alasdair. I found it interesting. I got a SYSTEM-1 and I am
interested in PLUG-OUT synths - the mix of software and hardware etc. I hope
that they will continue to release them.

This is one for the nerds.  It doesn't really say that much but the photos
are good, including the photo of the 909 developer, Atsushi Hoshiai, with
his ride cymbal that he sampled and used for the 909 sound, which has
probably graced a good number of records over the years.

I'm planning a 12-hour retrospective radio special on the career of
Moritz von Oswald, from Palais Schaumburg days to present. This has been
 scheduled for the last 3 Fridays of May 2015 , 10P-2A on KFJC-FM 89.7,
Los Altos Hills, CA (www.kfjc.org). This will happen regardless, but I
would like to interview him and wrap his career observations around the
already awesome and voluminous program material. Having said this, he is
a bit reclusive (so am I), and I don't do most social media, if any. I
sent a ping via the Hardwax website, but have had no reply so far.

If any of you are occasionally in contact with him please relay the
 message that there's a geek in California that's doing a 12-hour radio
special on his 30 years of collective efforts, and would like to
interview him via phone regarding same
