electro - mass transit

2001-03-12 Thread Conway, Simon
for those looking for some fresh new takes on electro sounds - check out the
first release on mass transit records out of miami. a killer 4-track ep
with contributions from:

silicon [v-max] - skeletal beats over wind-chime chords.
voice stealer - carl finlow on fine form
decal - ferocious thumping electo from ireland
airlocktronics - amazing stuff - if you've heard their ep's you'll know this
stuff is unique.

probably the best electro record i've picked up this year - one for the end
of year lists.

'tip' as they say.

RE: [313] Re: Torske

2001-02-01 Thread Conway, Simon
there is a classic album on djax by ismistik -'remains' i think it's called
- really lush early carl craig/psyche sound off it - overlooked amongst
along the dross that was out on djax at the time. there are 3 12"'s too
which are all worth picking up. torske had an album out on ferox a couple
of years ago but it wasn't to the same standard imo.
he also did a release as 'footnotes' on the norwegian label love o.d -
deep drifting stringy techno.

there's those 2 albums he had on input neuron as well. 'melody maker' on the

the album is coming out on disko b too i believe.
in the meantime for a parallax corp. fix - check the rmx of 'wired for
sound' by australian group b[if]tek - new wave wirey synth workout similar
to the rmx of theme from pack.

New Alexander Robotbick

>C2 feat. Alexander Robotnick / Uh Uh (Alexander Robotnick returns with a
slammin breakbeat techno-electro jam that is not be missed! recommended)
Riot City 12 $9.99

this came out last year sometime as a double pack promo - the original is a
lot more downtempo than his older italo stuff or even the hola macci kola
reworks 12" thaat came out on riot city as well [ i wouldn't call it either
slammin' or 'techno-electro' - chilled out breakbeat maybe] . the first
remix 12" is by thomas brinkmann, salz - both in that dry-techno cologne
style. the secons 12" has an amazing remix by 3rd electric which is the one
2 get - deep electro - also a more laid back remix by klystron. worth
getting if u can find out what remixes are on the 12" and also just cos it's
robotnick.

try formic.de for copies [thats where i got my copy] - postage will be
cheaper for u too.
