Re: (313) Claude Young and MXF Pioneer in Berlin last Saturday
first off its not Pioneer that makes that fader box your talking about.its called the MXF8 made by Grexultra...the same people who made the infamous Notron. Ben Long and Paula Temple were the first to use this new piece and Claude saw it and wanted production model #1 They are still kinda buggy thats why they have not been fully released yet but soon they will be available for all..look for the Advent to have one next in his live showsbut yes it does add an amazing kinda interaction between Ableton Live and the dji'm sure Claude loves his judging by his reaction when he saw Ben Longs.wish i could have heard his set. take care michael www.renegaderhythms.com Well what can I say but the man sure knows his gadgets and as the sets were all recorded I hope to get these up (with his permission) sometime in the next 2 weeks. He used Ableton Live and the MXF Pioneer to amazing effect, dropping new/old/quirky tracks whislt using the sampling of like doctor who etc over the top. He said he only starting using it the night b4 but he new it inside out, well it seemed that way :) The thing that really got me is that he was not totally laptop'd out he used the decks as well as he said he feels he still needs to interact and with the mixer and decks he can. Also the pioneer has its own cross fader and with upto 8 storage banks you can basically mix 8 sounds and cut the tracks/loops/samples etc etc hopw you would on a normal mixer, I have to say I was very very impressed byt this piece of kit. So remember to checkout his mix on Proton Radio this Wednesday, I am sure it will bring back memories for me :) Cheers Ian --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Re: (313) Governor of Arkansas
Mike Huckaby has actually been busy doing a few projects He has a few things on their way out to us all 1. i guess there is a ep coming out on Funky Chocolate that is a tribute to the classics or something like that it has a track from the jazz republic ep that huckaby did plus something from braxton holmes 2. Funky Chocolate repress of the Jazz republic EP including New tracks from Mike Huckaby 3. The kick off of Mikes label Deep Transportation with DT 001, which will be a repress of his remix from Ferox, Adventures in Techno Soul along with a certain track on the B side which will remain nameless untill it comes out. This will be a picture disk, and probably limited... 4. Keep your eyes peeled cause rumour has it that Mike Huckaby is currenty working with Amp Fiddler on some sort of project..more to come on this well this is whats happening with huck (he is always busy in the studio messing around with new sounds it seems)...i am sure there will be more specific details soon michael www.renegaderhythms.com On Thu, 22 Jan 2004 [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Hey, talking of Mike Huckaby I never heard much mention of his mix of Norm Talley on that Detroit Beatdown 12 here (the one with the yellow cover). That is a fat house track, really good. Quite 'tracky' but great... so, the q is, what other Mike Huckaby productions should I check out? Well his released productions is only 4 EPs according to the discographies I've found on line: http://www.frequencydetroit.com/Artist/huckaby2.htm He is also an Iowa favorite, and a really nice guy, if that matters to anyone but us ;-)
