Re: [313] "hard techno"

2002-06-05 Thread George Todd
Sinomfish & Garfunkel did copyright scarbourgh fair, even though twas based
on a folk song (subject to change over time you know, in a generation kind
of way), personaly I think it's a bit wank that people bother with that kind
of thing. It just stagnates the evolution of music. No one lives forever, so
what's the point in copyright?, oh yeah.. that artistic necessity; MONEY,
nothing to do with crying cuz somebody made a more popular version, boo hoo.

I can vividly recall after a devastatingly hard night at the Bankle
building, Robert Smith (anyone remember him or have a contact?) turning
to me and boldly stating "hard techno will never die as long as there
are kids who want to dance."

Funny how some subjects never really veer too far off the beaten path.

music was just audible muffled by police choppa and tailbacks. Never Mind.

Re: [313] is moby still Techno

2001-03-22 Thread George Todd
"Go" was possibly the only 'techno' track he has ever done. Even that was
poor, and reeked of kiddie coin. Moby has nothing to do with techno as far
as I'm aware, and never has done.

[313] Colin Favor

2001-02-26 Thread George Todd
Went to see Colin Favor this weekend, and by god that man is good. He played
an absolutely blinding set, I was suitably inspired to stick on some album
of his (Creative Techno) and about 2 tracks in there is a sample that I
think says "Break it Down" then "To get you into the groove!" although I
think my first quote is wrong, can anyone clear this up for me?

Sorry if that seems a little vague.

cheers,
George/

[313] shift - unreleased techno

2001-02-22 Thread George Todd
http://www.deviator.org/releases.asp?InHouse

For anyone that's interested, the above link will take you through to
shift inhouse m3u streaming or mp3 download, my personal work over the last
couple of months. Once there just click the 'click here' link for m3u
playlist or download the mp3s.

The form can be a bit ropey at points but consider that it's all realtime
tweak with no pre-recording or mix down, as it should be.

Comments welcome, even if it is just to tell me I can't write.

easy,
George
