[313] totally OT - osbournes/ozzy's kid a dj?
Ok, I know this is way off-topic... Don't know about you people, but I have been checking out The Osbournes on MTV whenever I have the chance and laughing my ass off. I remember about a year (or more?) ago, someone posted something about Ozzy's kid being a dj and costing $10K plus to book?!? and he plays trance or something? Sound familiar to anyone? If so, please tell me it's not that little pant-load Jack who is on the show. I'm assuming it's Ozzy's other son from another marriage or something looks like he is in his late 20s hehehehehehehe md __ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! Re: [313] exclusive records on ebay?
You know, I've often wondered how many people are out there using those vinyl cutting machines that are attached to a tech 1200 (made by vestax or something?) and using it to produce rare white label copies of different records being sold on ebay... wouldn't be all that difficult. md --- jurren baars [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: don't know if anyone is interested, but someone has a white label copy of theo parrish's remix of jill scott up for sale on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItemitem=852291257r=0t=0showTutorial=0ed=1016937540indexURL=0rd=1 the seller has rather exclusive records [shari-vari, moodymann, s.i.d.'s] for sale, all the time. what's the general opinion of [for instance:] a copy of s.i.d.6 going for $100 or more on ebay, being sold by someone from detroit? [- afaik these are still available at submerge, so the person is just making use or abuse from the fact that these records are only sold in detroit, and through ebay you can offer them to basically anyone in the world. so my question is not about detroit specifically, but about the fact that people take advantage of other peoples sincere motives to make it a special item, just to benefit from it themselves.] jURren _ Chat with friends online, try MSN Messenger: http://messenger.msn.com - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] __ Do You Yahoo!? Re: [313] gary numan
Have to disagree with your opinion on the Dave Clarke Cars remix. I always thought it was pretty slamming, freaky vocal effects and all... As a matter of fact, I've been searching for this record for a couple of years... so if any of you haters have one that you want to give up, send me an email. md --- Trevor Wilkes [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Unfortunately, there have been several busted remixes of carsfor those of you who dig the metal I think Fear Factory did one..as well as (dont quote me im not up on my hard house) Armand Van Helden. Either way I think they both should have been stopped and asked politely to think it over, both mixes butchered a great song. ...I would be interested in finding some other numan samples/mixes as well if anybody knows of any. [313] yet another track ID..... war
In the never ending quest for track IDs. here's another. Tech-house track played in Detroit alot back in the mid/late 90s..very deep dark bassline - only other feature I can describe with any confidence is the word War is repeated over and over in a distorted voice... Played by Magda at her DEMF 2000 set around the 30 minute mark... link to it here (it's the 2nd one in the list): http://www.groovetech.com/PhoenixData/GT/srvlt/GTController?Action=BroadcastSearchpage=broadcast_archive.jspXMLType=Broadcast+Event+Text+List+HTMLKeyword=RowCount=10Artist=magdaGenreID=FromDate=FromMonth=FromYear=SubGenreID=ToDate=ToMonth=ToYear=ChannelID=3 Sorry for the ridiculously long link. md __ Do You Yahoo!? Re: [313] House ID's
Hey there the first track you're talking about is Keep Pushin' - Boris Dlugosch on Suntune Records 1996 probably a million remixes of this one as well. Fond memory of John Acquaviva dropping this one at Sickness/Recovery a few years ago. I was outside of the main tent and when Acquaviva starting playing this, people were literally running to get back inside for this track. hehehe md --- stuffed bird [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Hi, Been vibing to a Lil Louis mix I got from somebody (I believe he had it from the deephouse page) and I just gotta know this track. Its bassline vaguely reminds me of 'The Word Is Love' by Steve 'Silk' Hurley, and even the whole feel of this track reminds me of that classic. Lyrics are: keep pushing on, things are gonna get better, it won't take long, keep on pushing to the top and then there is another chorus: reach on up and reach on in, keep on pushing and you'll win which repeats itself for a couple of minutes. It's NOT 'Rise' by Eddie Amador... Another track I've been hunting down is a house track in a similar vain which I heard Derrick Carter, Joe Claussell, Llorca play this weekend, so it should be fairly recent. Can't tell you much about it, it's a vocal track with a chorus speaking of 'time and time again'. Quite a minimal house groove, but a couple of times somes keys / piano licks kick in and heat up the track. Trainspotters ready?...set... RD Interested in Turkey? Re: [313] did richie's mom write this?
If I remember correctly, this was written in response to the well publisized incident where Rich's party in Windsor was stopped by the forces that be. Hehehehe, I can also remember Rich saying something in an article about undercover cops following him around all day to see where he was going to try and set up the party. [313] DEMF2001 - Oldham
I know it's been beat to death already, but I'm extremely disappointed the Alan Oldham is not going to be performing this year. This man has contributed as much or more to Detroit's overall artistic community than virtually anyone else. Too bad the organizers can't put their personal biases aside (if this is indeed the case) and ask themselves what does our audience want? Can anyone shed some more light on this topic with something more than rumours? Why isn't Alan going to be there!? md --- [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Perhaps it was politics, perhaps it was conflicting schedules. Juan had his chance last year and was a no show. And perhaps did you think that Carl might have asked people, and they declined? just a thought. . . . I think that might have been the case. I don't know. We'll see... there's still some unconfirmed guests. Don't get me wrong, I think there are some pretty decent performers scheduled, but I guess I was just anticipating that there was going to be some of those people BMG mentioned and more who were intrinsic to techno or Detroit history. I understand the desire to keep it fresh with different talent. It's a matter of taste I guess - This message was sent via the Ulsternet webmail system. http://www.ulster.net - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] __ Do You Yahoo!?
