Re: [313] OT: TR-808/FUTURE SYNTHS
LOOK OUT FOR THE ALESIS ANDROMEDA---REAL ANALOG AGAIN!!! There have been some wondersynths in the 90'stons of 'em... NordLead AccessVirus Waldorf Doepfer Futuretro777 Novation to name a few.. Not to mention some amazing software synths including the nord micro-modular etc... I have sold two classic synths in the last year... A tr-909 to some cat in Texas for 1250,00.00 haha and an mc-202 to Synthetic313 who then proceeded, I'm sure of this, to turn it into a robot in his lab. ey micho?hehe Point is, synths to me can come and go, the important thing is to innovate w/the tools you have and create new music. ---still wishing I had a Modular Room--knob heaven..
Gear list/tr 808 alternatives
Is there a gear mailing list on the web for techno/house junkies? Most that I have seen are in a posting format on websites and seem to be for jungle or hip-hop musicians. By the way, nothing works quite like an 8-0-8. But, there is the production tools cd-rom for MPC that gives you every imagined drum sound in every tone--no real time trweaking however. Check out rebirth a software synth, or a good outboard module and jack in the FATBOY midi unit for real time tuning of every parameter...a cost effective and reliable alternative. One of my favorite 808 tracks...Marvin Gaye sexual healing

That's because we are not 17 anymore. It's called life, careers, and maturity. I don't remember even paying attention to what people wore or categorizing the tracks. I just thought the speaker always looked place to be- and I always had good company.

I realize that this might be a more complicated question than I made it out to be. The guys from Detroit that were featured in Techno Rebels, can anyone go to them or do they just cater to the Detroit techno elite? Also, do they only master from dats or from all types of media. Sorry if these are stupid questions but I'm kind of new to this. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. Kevin You can call them too, business is business. UR and other Detroit labels press from multiple sources though, not just locally. But:: press up loud!! I am sure you know about those records that seemed as if they were recorded at the wrong speed, or maybe the 150bpm they wanted it to be heard at, as well as that record that is just way too low or blasting high and screws up your nicely matched levels. Vinyl is also mastered a bit different than a CD,...Long story short-- Magik is right, do an acetate, otherwise you will be better off (money-wise) pressing 200 or more and you may not need that many. If it's a good track that you really dig, you can always press more. Hope that helps--
Re: (313) Techno Rebels--miami bass-ghetto tech etc.
In a message dated 4/12/00 11:31:14 AM Eastern Daylight Time, [EMAIL PROTECTED] writes: What's interesting to me is not so much the cultural angle.but the fact that they jumped on Ghetto Tech (which is just a more sped up version of miami bass music) oh about...14 years after the fact as far as i can reckon. Who jumped on it? Music magazines(doing their job to stay hip) that have had dj's, labels, and good promoters pushing it to them and the suburban buying masses of club kids(white and black)for years-- whether it is worthy of a grain of salt or not. I haven't heard any musicians talkin' about it, other than to dismiss it as the Brittney Spears of synthesis. Who cares anyways, if people are buyin' sell it- that's capitalism. Isn't it? Re: Bass and Booty--- apples and oranges--- very different in ways other than pitch. Some bass patters were actually complicated and certainly explored tonal quality and lo-end frequencies ways that were never done before. Remember the car shows with frequencies dropping below the bar--an interesting experiment-- certainly moreso than ass and tities as ghetto tech explores. I'll take Davis and Coltrane with Evans in a smoke-filled lounge over either anytime, but that's just a matter of taste. I think the first Feel the Bass series did penetrate the burbs all those years ago with much much hype- It replaced kool moe dee and depeche mode as my most played for a while when I was in Jr. High in a little town in texas.

His style was identical to the two dj's(C1-- who played very well, and Trevor R.) who played before him, and Carl did not vary his set at all. Still a great time and lots of good music.
(313) Mike Ink Kriesel 45 or 15
Just curious if anyone has real audio of either of these records. I am trying to figure out which one has the track I want. It can be found on Terry Mullen New school fussion after Work That Body Someone had pointed me in the right direction before. Thanks in advance

Minimaltek, read this; I'm noticing points have to made with you several times before they sink in. Maybe I just disagree with you. Saying Detroit is finished with techno makes no sense to me. SORRY I asked you to elaborate...it seems like a pretty big generalization and I think Jaguar is a great release for Rolando with many more to come from the city of Detroit by people like Dan Bell, Ritchie Hawtin, Anthony Shakir, The Planet-E crew, the Transmat Crew, Wild Planet...the list goes on and they have all been producing good music. Alan, your opinions are your opinions if you just want to throw stuff on the list and insult people for asking you to go further with your ideas and clarify, be my guest---but interaction and conversation seems like a better platform. Unless you can't back your statements up...

(313) motor incident..
What was the incident? I just went to the website and noticed Carl Cox is coming as well as MR.C Bout time!
Re: (313) motor incident / Carl Cox/My opinions
As far as motor, that's no big deal for them, they will recover...They are doing really well now.Better than ever...and there are actually some quality artists stepping up to the decks---the drinks are still sub-standard though... 13-Below was my personal cup-of-tea Now Carl Cox has some serious dj ability...don't let the hype fool you-he's earned it. His production is really weak in my opinion ---but he is not from Detroit so that's no surprise, hehe.Seriously though, I would assume he is playing what he always played-tech/house.. I just can't can't believe they paid the fee!! 1 solid act is better than 10 average cats, most promoters have no idea that's the case and thus---mediocraty reigns... Over and out- R.

go to submerge.net and go to detroit artist files and labels... you will find the info you need.
Re: Betr.: (313) crispy hoe'sNow Garnier
I don't think Garnier has a clue how sync a 909 to his keys. His beats on the I was in ecstasy track are laughable. To press or not to press?
