it means that the sanctioned after parties will be the ones that agree to let movement members bypass the line. - The Management - Original Message - From: alex lugo [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: 313@hyperreal.org Sent: Thursday, May 15, 2003 1:24 PM Subject: (313) Sanctioned?!? ##Movement Members will receive preferred entry into all sanctioned ##Movement Festival after-parties and off-site events. I guess he knows the only thing stopping him from becoming the electronic D'Angelo is a mic, and that's not how he wants to be perceived. ;) I wondered how many other DJ/producers can sing-sing (robo techno vox don't count). Derrick Carter sings on some of his records, often very well. Ron Trent and Chez Damier sang on their Prescription records, didn't they? Or atleast one of the two of them? FOR HTML VERSION OF THIS MAIL, FOLLOW THIS LINK: http://www.remoteagency.com/mailout/remote_tour_solicitation_killer_revolver _drive_tour.htm THE REMOTE AGENCY PRESENTS: * KILLER/REVOLVER LABEL TOUR * * NOVEMBER 2002 * FEATURING: ADAM MARSHALL (KILLER REC.) - DJ PAN/TONE (REVOLVER REC.) - LIVE PA AND INTRODUCING JACOB FAIRLEY AND IAN WORANG AS THE UNCUT (KILLER REC.) - LIVE PLEASE NOTE: THIS WILL BE A DRIVING TOUR AND ONLY AVAILABLE IN ONTARIO, QUEBEC, AND THE NORTH-EAST UNITED STATES. TO SUBMIT A BOOKING INQUIRY, PLEASE EMAIL [EMAIL PROTECTED] TOUR INFO: Brimming with enthusiasm after a year long period of near incestuous collaboration, Pan/tone, the Uncut, Jacob Fairley and Adam Marshall are now set to bring their take on techno, house and electronic music out of the confines of Toronto. With experience playing across North America, Europe and South America under their belts, this group has decided to appropriate the conventional rock tour and see how it can apply to the dance club. These artists have all played with one another enough times to be confident in their ability to create an entire night of seamless sets where one artist flows into the next, mixing djing, live instrumentation, hardware and software. These four chaps - partnering and going solo in their various incarnations - intend to get in a van and bring a little rock to the dancefloor; a few hotel rooms might be worse for wear and the occasional TV may end up in the swimming pool, but isn't it time that techno finally dropped its pants in the face of austerity. THE UNCUT BIOGRAPHY: LABELS: KILLER, DUMB-UNIT, SENDER Influences such as the icy post punk sounds of Joy Division, the trashy rock sprawl of The Stooges, the wall of sound of My Bloody Valentine, the clever intricacy of Television and the pop sensibilities of New Order meet the hyper modernism of minimal techno such as Burger/Ink and the sterile Detroit electro pulse of Adult. Electronic instrumentation including analog synthesizers, drum machines and samplers share equal space with the traditional instruments of the rock archetype - guitar, bass and the human voice. Live, The Uncut performs as a duo. Jacob Fairley does the guitaring and the vocaling, Ian Worang does the bassing and pile of electronic boxes help out with the rest of the noises. Performances have taken place in such disparate venues as Element and The Tequila Lounge. Each type of venue - rock bar and dance club - showcases a different side of the band and goes to further the notion that real connections exist between all of these artificially separated camps. In spite of all of this, they would rather not be described as electroclash, synthcore, new new wave, electronica, ghetto tech, electro tech, 80s synth-pop revivalists or anything else like that. With an imminent releases on Killer, Dumb Unit and Sender, The Uncut are eager to begin sessions for a full length release and to start bringing their live show a greater number of both rock and dance venues. The Uncut are from Toronto, not New York, Detroit, Berlin or Cologne. [313] vladislav delay?
question about this naima cd, is that just the title of the cd or is there a track naima? and if so is it a rmx work of john coltranes naima, or is it an original piece? wondering, naeema I picked up the Vladislav Delay: Naima cd on Staubgold a while back, still haven't had a chance to listen to it, let alone review the thing. Seems like he's sourcing the Anima material from his last release as VD for this live extemporization. I am looking for a list that will discuss Vladislav Delay, Electric Tones Records, Edgard Varese and Derrick May during the course of a single day. Basically, a big mailing list that covers the whole of electronic music and is more content than chatter. I want a list with more discussions about why Ionisation was better or worse than Deserts, what is happening with obscure amsterdam IDM labels, and what were the 12s to pick up this week. Ideally, it will be low traffic high content. mt From: Pryor, Ryan N [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: 'Mike Taylor' [EMAIL PROTECTED] CC: '313@hyperreal.org' 313@hyperreal.org Subject: RE: [313] other music mailing lists? Hello, Does anybody have any recommendations for music mailing lists that are interesting and informative? I am looking for something that covers 313, ambient and IDM without a lot of OT opinion posts, and other gratuitous traffic that seems to plague this list. Something web based would be nice as well, something like I Love Music, but with more electronic content. As much as I love this list and the people that I have met through it, it is taking up to much of time time for too little information. Algorithm will be on tour in support of Composure, and a variety of new projects on his Revolver Canada Imprint. April - USA May - Europe June- Asia COMPOSURE OFFICIAL RELEASE PARTIES Montreal Feb 15th @ Laika : 6-9pm Toronto Feb 28th @ Mission (Element Bar) : 10-3am LABEL: FORCE LAB RELEASE DATE: February 2002 TITLE: Force Lab Edition - Composure, Mixed By ALGORITHM Also features previously unreleased material from: Electric Birds, OZY, Rabbits, Yagya and Bizz Circuits. With over 12 years of DJing under his belt, Algorithm is undisputedly one of Canada's techno pioneers and easily one of the most skilled DJ's in N. America. His passion for emerging new sounds in electronic music have kept him a gem of the underground scene, though he can be found performing at some of the world's leading events and clubs. The Force Lab imprint has been the 12 home for both Mille Plateaux and Force Inc. artists to experiment in sounds that could work on the dance floor...through this combination, we feel one of the most innovative mix CD's has emerged. Algorithm takes the mix CD to new levels with Composure, layering and remixing over 300 loops from the catalog and re-processing them with his signature mixing style. Composure takes you to the point where over 7 different tracks are working seamlessly together! Beyond the typical click-techno and into something totally new, Composure set's a new standard for today's technology driven mix CD. Project Synopsis : Force Lab Edition - Composure Composure was designed in a multithread process with a variety of media. The original mixes were composed on Technics 1200's from the vinyl catalog releases. Unreleased material was taken from .wav files and then integrated into the mix. Each track was then discreetly edited into single instruments and loops of various lengths. Then, complimentary versions of loops were resaved with different EQ settings, transitions and effects. Each artist was initially remixed with their own material and then recombined with other artists. Over 300 loops and individual instruments were cut out of the bed mixes and recomposed. At times, 8 different Force Lab artists are layered and combined. For the final process of Composure, multiple variations of combined loops and instruments of various tracks were macrocomposed into primary sequences, continually bounced to larger macrosequences, until the end result emerged as the full length CD.
