Re: (313) roll call?
Here since..? 2003? Full blown lurker. Have been unsubbed for a few years, resubbed a year or three (?) ago. Mailing this from the birth city of... DJ Tiesto. Anyway, hope to visit Detroit sometime. For now I just want to thank all the active members for pointing me in all kinds of directions. (Read: Omar-S, Theo Parrish (and the other two chairs), Drexcyia, Dan Bell, Aux 88, and the list goes on... But also my love for disco cuts, and clips from The New Dance Show, Shari Vari, Kraftwerk (wich I regarded retarded when I first subscribed) and this thing called dub-techno...) This list has educated me like no other. And for that, I thank you! (313) Tresor Berlin: The vault & the electronic frontier
Hi list, I`m not a regular poster, but this might be of interest to some: TRESOR BERLIN: THE VAULT & THE ELECTRONIC FRONTIER Dir. Michael Andrawis, UK, 2005, 62 mins Screens at the ICA on Thursday 15 December as part of Soultek Session club night. TRESOR will also return to the ICA for a run in the new year. After the fall of the Berlin Wall, the Tresor night club became a secret Berlin rendez-vous, housed in an old vault room of a 1920's department store which had not been opened for 46 years, and was at the heart of a social and musical revolution of East and West. Following arts promoter and record man Dimitri Hegemann through the streets of Berlin and into the sub-cultural underground, this documentary charts a social change as pivotal as 60's London. The film culturally connects Berlin with musicians from Germany, the UK and Detroit, and includes exclusive interviews with Detroit techno pioneers DJ Juan Atkins and Jeff Mills, the UK's Christian Vogel and Tony Surgeon, plus rare footage of Timothy Leary. Got this via: http://www.close-upfilm.com/features/regionalfilm/london-news-ica.htm Anyone knows if this will be released on DVD? Greetings, Peter

A little off topic: When talking about "The Bells", check this: http://media.putfile.com/jinglebells72 Happy x-mas to all from this lurker. ;-) Peter PS: got this from the g-tech mailinglist. That`s what I meant with "not very innovative". It is just another release, it doesn`t seem like she was pushing it to the edge. The sounds and structures of the tracks have all been used before. But that doesn`t make it a bad album. Or a good one. Peter On 12/6/05, Klaas-Jan Jongsma <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Did you? I think the new album from Miss Djax is pretty decent. Not very innovative, but just decent and straight to the point. Anyone heard any of their output in the last couple of years? Think I'll go hunting online clips.
Fwd: (313) DJ BONE ... ATTACKS - Week 13
Got this message from the Subject Detroit mailinglist: ### Hello Subject Detroit Listers: Here is the link to the brand new DJ Bone Attack. We are on week 13: "LINK TO MIX 13" Again, I request that none of you repost this link anywhere else; please sympathize with our webmaster, Garrett, as he has to keep changing the link every time it is leaked out. Those who have been with us since the beginning understand the concept behind these mixes. It is unfortunate that many people defy the intent, but these gestures sure would not stop DJ Bone from recording a new mix every week. For the ones requesting the links to the previous attack mixes: "LINKS TO THE FIRST 12 MIXES" I found this web page containing all of the previous DJ Bone Attack mixes: http://users.skynet.be/d_link/DJ%20Bone%20ATTACKS%202005.htm, I will truly appreciate any information about the site webmaster so I can request them to take this page down. DJ Bone Live Attacks: November 2 – Module (Tokyo, Japan) www.clubmodule.com November 11 – Full Spectrum (Utrecht, NL) November 12 – I Love Techno (Ghent, BE) www.ilovetechno.be Feel free to e-mail us back with any questions/concerns: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thanks for your continuous support. Respect, Ahnne Araza Director of Operations Subject Detroit Records Real Booking MidWest Real Booking West ### Don`t get me wrong, I enjoy en have enjoyed the music coming from Bone trough the live attacks, but treatening to stop making and posting mixes plus wanting to take that other site down shows that Bone does not understand what he is doing by placing those mixes online. If other people want to host those mixes then there is nothing he can do about it! And if they really don`t want to make the direct link public (because ot is costing them bandwidth...) then they simply should not do that! It`s the nature of the internet. Just face it. What I see is a whole lotta bark and not enough bite! If Bone does not want his mixes to be spread, or links to be shared he can better stop his project today than tomorrow.
