Re: [313] Mistress Barbra
Club techno and Trance? Hrmmm I have seen Barbara play about 10x now and out of that 10... one time she was off.. and there were circumstances behind that too... She has so much energy behind the decks... just because she plays mostly swedish/european techno and not detroit (heaven forbid) doesnt mean it's clubby. If she played trance, clubby trance at that, I am sorry, I do not believe it. When was this that you heard her? I want to ask her personally =)I am not calling you a liar, but I just cant think it possible unless I hear it from her mouth. And as for arrogant.. yes and she rocks. A fan. Lorie On Fri, 10 Nov 2000, Oliver Barkovic wrote: Hey all, there is a interview with her and a bunch of other Canadian DJ's in the current issue of Air Canada magazine, so if you fly AC then you can read it. I heard her play really crappy stuff here in Hamilton about 6 months ago. It was just bad club techno and trance. Not a fan. Re: [313] never play soft
Ok. I used the term soft in the first place because someone (don't ask who.. there were 34802438020 replies to the women in electronic thread) posted, Women tend to like softer types of music..house..trance. Something like that. I saw that and decided to use that word in my post. I am all about techno sets fluctuating. Its what grabs the mind and twists it all around. Lorie On Fri, 6 Oct 2000, Steven T Lammers wrote: I think all sets need to breathe, and by that I mean techno DJs who don't break it down or house DJs who don't pump it up once in a while aren't grasping the concept of dynamics. ..This can be accomplished with the same stack of records you brought last week, but knowing what to play when and how to play it. People on the proverbial floor need to breathe, too, or maybe I'm just out of shape. ;) I think the term soft here is being misconstrued to mean something less than 140bpm, whereas I think a more appropriate definition would mean - to me anyway - someone with the versatility and knowledge to drop in abstract ambience or slowdive eclecticism during one of those foreboding proper techno sets. ; Live a little. Steve TechnoSnob wrote: My fault, what I should have said was... these 2 women dont play soft... meaning house,trance..ect I love minimal.. and consider that soft so I should have been more specific. Personally, I think playing only hard is a great discredit to the diversity that, in my opinion, makes techno so unique. chris - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

2 words. Misstress Barbara. Also... Shiva from Indianapoils. These 2 women never play soft...dont like soft..and they rock. I personally love being a minority in the Techno world.
