It is kinda wierd, but it seems as though whenever black americans create
a new, amazing genre of music, whether its jazz, blues, rock, or techno-
it is often rejected by the mainstream American audience, but well
accepted by various European audiences.

Just goes to show you how far we have progressed, huh?

If that is how you truly feel, then please progress to another mailing
list. You and the smart guy in the message below this one are obviously very
angry non-americans. as far as blues and rock goes, you need to maybe take
AMERICAN history and learn that not only was blues and ragtime and rock
WIDELY accepted by american audiences when they were created, they also
started revolutions for the times. Music has played a huge part in changing
the history of our country. I realize that trance has changed your country,
and acid helped the youth culture of your country to accept electronic
music. But I find it appauling that you can type these ridiculous comments
without knowing anything about america. The BBC doesn't broadcast the
happenings in America. And if you all are so intent on having the
mainstream audiences of our countries accept the music we create, you should
have your picture next to sellout in the dictionary.

-GLYPH-in response to your pathetic views on american audiences...AND I COPY
AND QUOTE

And it also goes to show how cheesey and wack American audiences can be.
Props to all those talented, Black-American artists who dared and gave us a
wealth of music and art that not only entertains but teaches us about
ourselves and gives us room to explore.

FYI from california, you are very bold to say that kind of shit on a mailing
list invloving Americans. Not only does your opinion hold no value, it also
lacks intelligence. It is your closed-mindedness that keeps the world from
being a nice place to live. No one cares about how you perceive american
audiences- YOU are the epidemy of cheesey and wack for even suggesting such
a lame opinion on this list. And while you are on your march against american
audiences, and talking like you know about it-although you are across the
ocean and dont live here and obviously are getting you opinion from the BBC-
why dont you go listen to some trance.

Hi-His new LP has one song that is amazing-a vocal like i have never
heard-and gives any other vocal track a run for its money...as for the
rest...it's a little light-hearted, but okay..not techy at all..a little
jazzier than the law should allow...but it is worth it for the one vocal-

TRACK ID PLEASE!!!!!

2000-05-04 Thread ToToRoGrL
Okay-this one is kinda old-maybe from '97 or even before-
there are two vocalists- with a girl singing what sounds like you make me
feel real... (it sounds distant, almost echo-like)- and then there is a male
vocal saying the sun is rising, the moon is shining, let yourself go... very
deep and amazing-if anyone could help I would appreciate it..thanks ahead of
time-kat

another track ID...thanks to you all

2000-05-04 Thread ToToRoGrL
this one is VERY old- from back in the days when Dan and RonDcore were
spinning old school-the sample is a vocal from a song that is actually being
used on a commercial now. it is a lady-who sounds almost middle
eastern-singing here i am...here i am... it has a wicked break-beat and
also a hard house beat-if anyone has a clue i would be much obligedthank
you ---kat

okay-so we have been sitting tight in CA watching all these comments float in
and out of our mailbox concerning htis stupid toy-
we think the least we should do is not give it so much credit. Wouldn't we
rather see a toy than a complete rave enlightment on E! entertainment
television? E! now has a couple of bimbos taking the cameras around to all
the coolest places to buy your rave gear and interviews with rave
promoters. If that isn't the worst, who knows what isat least ken can't
really play the music-god knows what the Matel version of rave music would
be...Trance
aspirin for everyone..much luv..kat and missy

(313) wilhelm k--not too shabby

2000-03-19 Thread ToToRoGrL
well, we kinda like his sound..a little on the basic side. but he sure has
some damn good mixtapes, and isn't too bad live, either. unfortunately he
doesn't seem to play in SF too much because no one really knows his name. but
he has put out some damn good mixtapes..kinda tech/disco...we like him.
