[313] 430 West Records
After reading post after post about Jak and the Planet-E party but did not see anything about the 430 west after party the same night. My friends and I tried to get in to Jak and the Planet-E party and after going through my pokets looking for more cash I came across the 430 west flyer. Thinking this party would be like the others and we wouldnt be able to get in we decided to spend the $10 on a cab and drive over. As we walked around the building to the enternace thinking we would have to wait the man at the door says $10 so we pay and we walk right in. I was amazed to see only 30 people there as Mike Huckalbe(sp?) was throwing down. I waited in aw to see who was going on next, after Mike was Wild Planet who is one hell of a live P.A. As people began to leave the music kept getting better as Lawrence Burden went on after Wild Planet and threw down one of the hardest sets I have ever heard. After that Terrence Parker and Dj Dijital threw down after that we left so I dont know if anyone else spun that night? I was pissed that I didnt get in to JAK but it was werth it as I have never seen Lawrence Burden spin before, his set was one of the best I have heard all weekend. Does anyone else feel like DEMF is a starting point for something BIG? Like big corporate labels to test and see if people will buy in to Techno as people have bought in to Trance so they can package it and sell it to millions as the next wave of new music. St. Germain?
I was flipping threw channels and heard the track Rose Rouge by St. Germain on MTV. It was being played in the background as a boy band (sorry but I don't know the name) were in the act of ripping off there clothes on stage. So my question is...Does St. Germain have any videos out? Is it just coincidence that the song was being played or is St. Germain going after the Teen Pop Culture. Ben
