(313) Re: achive etc
Hi, since you guys have been talkin about the Archive label in the last few days I thought I could say it again: we set up a page on the Italian label in the Spotlight section at htpp://gpww.iscool.net I think the only English store you've not mentioned in the discussion is Vinyl Junkies; anyway on the page you'll find the details for the distributors as well. Hope this helps, take care d
Archive Records webpage
Hi guys, the Archive Record official webpage should be ready very soon, but in the meanwhile you can check the Spotlight section dedicated to the Italian label at http://gpww.iscool.net thanx to Enrico for the infos and the vinyls: the new Nubian Mindz LP sounds great to me... you hit the right spot! Take it easy d
Re: (313) - OT - Loft Classics...
Karma recently released Thrillseekers on Spectrum Works; a new Cologne-based imprint, run by German producers Lars Vegas and Kabuki. I got a 12 with King Britt's remix of high Priestess plus a couple of nice cuts. I don't have the LP but I've seen it here in Italy so it should be easily available all over the world! Look for the sleeve with the red shiny car on it! Hope this helps Davide PS: if I'm not wrong the remix I was talkin' about is also included in the excellentHi:Fi jazz compiled by Alex Attias out on X:Treme records
(313) Link to 313
Hi, on the Gilles Peterson's unofficial website a link to the 313 subscription page has just been added. Check it at http://gpww.iscool.net Davide
Re:(313) Pepe and Friends at Velvet
Talkin' of Pepe Bradock: have you heard that wicked track Deep Burnt on Kif which came out last year??? That's my kind of house music indeed! Well, there's a sample on that track which is being used A LOT lately: I'm sure it's featured on A Tribe Called Quest's The Love (from the Love movement Lp) , I heard it on a DJ Cam's forthcoming track called Giuliette (should be out on Columbia), and I heard it on a remix done by Raphael Sebbag (one third of the United Future Organization out of Japan) done for Piero Umiliani's L'uomo E La Seta ... I don't know which is the original beat yet and I'm sure you can help me out with that! Thanx a lot Davide
(313) Need your help/opinion
Hi, my friend and I own a website dedicated to Gilles Peterson's radio show on BBC1 in England; it's not a techno thing even if you can hear pretty often Detroit ghetto underground stuff... things like UR, Theo Parrish, KDJ. We thought we could start a new feature: a section where we'll give infos about certain artists... I thought about starting with Theo Parrish. We don't want to be anything like the All-music guide or any fan-page... we'd like simply to list the discography, list (I couldn't find any) of webpages where you can find informations about the artist, store where you can buy the records (... I finally got all the records I was lookin for!). On the sleeve of Summertime is here there's an email address of Sound Signature and on the First Floor CD there's a phone number and a fax number... we might include a how to contact link I just wanted to know what do you guys think about it and if any of you knew any useful links. Thanx for your time Davide
(313) KDJ new cut
Hi, Gilles Peterson played an untitled new Moodymann's cut last wednsday during his Worldwide show... very fierce African-like drums and sweet female voice singing over a scat Any infos? You can see the playlist of that program at http://gpww.iscool.net Davide
(313) Innerzone Orchestra-KDJ Mix
Hi guys, I got a 4 tracks promo cd of Innerzone Orchestra's People make world go round . There's no tracklist but the 3rd cut kicks off with a voice introducing the band and then it says ... people make the world go roud rearranged and reconstructed by KDJ... It's an amazing instumental version of the song; jazzy,housy... moody! I heard that Carl Craig should have done a remix as well; I think that's the 1st track and I love it as well! I'm sure the 2nd track is the J88 remix (Jay Dee from Slum Village) but I have no idea on the last track: all I can say is that is very similar to the original but with strong hip-hop beats. It's supposed to be out on Planet E but the logo un the disc is a Talkin' Loud logo Any infos? Ciao Davide
(313) Theo Parrish ID
Hi, Just got back from London where I managed to get a few records; I got 2 Theo Parrish's- related 12: 1) Essential Selections vol.1 (Sound Signature) is that a sort of compilation or is just a normal release with that name? 2) Sound Signature Presents: 2 ... I don't know anything else about this one; it includes 3 cuts Good Kiss produced by Rick Wihite Blue Out produced by Theo Parrish Transit produced by Kenny Dixon Jr. Does anyone have more details on this one? I mean: is it a Theo Parrish's release or what??? I also got Underground Evolution's Primordial Passage on Peace Frog which I really like... does any of you have and/or like this one Thanx a lot Davide
