Lucky you,
I hope you enjoy your free CD
that has next to nothing to do with this list.

And yes I have heard the Del 5 track
and it also has even less to do with Detroit.

Didn't Sasha and Digweed partake in one of the previous GU mixes?
(rhetorical)

Oh yeah BTW my spine is

T*ngling

I guess this is just not my flavor of GUM.

Maybe I just need to hear this mix?

These two words usually strike fear into 313ers worldwide...but I'm all
fired-up and had to let you guys know. I just got a promo-copy of the
 latest
in Global Underground's Nubreed series mixed by Steve Lawler. Two discs
of
super deep tribally tech-house that has got to be, hands-down, the best
thing Global Underground has ever put out and one two of the best mixes I
have heard in a while. Will be added to my top three shortly.

Oh yeah, also contains a track by Del 5 called The biggest thing in
Detroit...pretty cool. I can give a tracklist if anybody wants one.

Sex on the Beach 2000 / Dj Godfater in T.O.

2000-09-28 Thread dcooper
Just got the sex on the beach 2000 remix in the mail today.
From ghetto anthem to modern day soul classic.
I couldn't stop playing the Electro Funk promo CD and featured it on
previous episodes of my internet radio show Clear Radio.
If the house and techno soul jocks give this a chance
it will definitely do some damage around the world.

Also on the Ghetto Tek / Booty tip
Cool Cutmaster DJ Godfather
is making his 2nd appearance at Deep Red in Toronto.
It will be a show not to be missed for all those that either haven't seen
this style of Djing or have only had a small taste.

My man archetype has been doing this for years to little acclaim though
all his peeps and serious vinyl junkies know what's up.
From his day's of making/releasing drum bass under the moniker
Monochrome (no matter what anyone says this was the first or one of the
first DB records to get released in North America!!! circa 95/96)
21/22 Corp. / Ele_mental represent!!!
It's nice to see years of hard work are paying off.

He recently played here in Toronto at the 3 the hardway event
hosted by Public Transit and Round Table.
To say the least he rocked the spot!!!
It was cool also because the audience was not just techno heads
and he still had the people going off.
Watch out Germany.

Also check out his most recent EP on 21/22 called Destroy Meaning
much along the lines of the single he did for Black Nation before the
Myths and Rituals LP was released.
Out this week on Ongaku Obscure Moment by Archetype

Finally the heads up on forthcoming releases.
21/22 Corp. Cat # LEVEL 1212
Artist - 1954

Promo's will be out soon and release is scheduled for late Oct / early Nov

I wish I was taking a trip there!

Archetype, if you haven't heard him, is pretty amazing. His stuff ranges
from funky-smooth, to minimal, to out-there experimental, and back again
(sometimes within the same track!)...all the while keeping a certain
signature to it. Definitely worth checking out if you ever get a chance.
His record releases are pretty sweet too- take a listen!

I've seen a few of his live PA's in Columbus and have been pretty blown
away; he knows how to get a crowd moving!

put this issue to rest and for
all the people who enjoy
his music to know, Manix is
Marc from 4 Hero, another
alias
that he goes by is Cold

And believe it or not they
have pretty close ties to
Detroit.

The Archive catalog is
essential for anyone into
serious music
will look out for the Nu Era
now. Also check for Dego's
label
2000 Black (the second release
was by techno don Titonton).
Not forgetting that there is
the much sought after trace
element
Vol. 3 on 21/22 Corp from Ohio
with classic Dan Curtain,
Titonton
and Morgan Giest and the
aforementioned Nu Era.
Contact me if you need to
source this gem out. Also for

 Hi 313 people

 I'm from Canberra, Australia.
Just over half a year ago i got interested in
detroit's wonderfull techno through Juan Atkins mix
cd. It has snowballed from there. Frustratingly it
is not easy to find stuff in Canberra. If anybody
knows of any reliable distributors that will import
detroit techno overseas for a reasonable price i would
 love to know.
Presently i am doing a project on Detroit techno for
my english postmodernism class. It would be fantastic
if anybody had views on postmodern issues relating to
Detroit techno that they would like to share with me.
