Re: (313) Ben Sims kicks ass???
Clearly his hiphop past is reflected in his mixing. I saw him do stuff I've never seen a dj do before. You've obviously never heard of/seen Terrence Parker or Jeff Mills then! talk21 your FREE portable and private address on the net at http://www.talk21.com

(313) Sen Bims flicks ass???
I hear ya, but Ben Sims is a good producer too. Being a good dj AND a good producer is kinda rare but increasingly important if you want to be recognised. Yeah looping old tracks is difficult. (sarcasm) Jeff Mills gets a lot of respect for his production though I don't think it's all that great. You fucking idiot! Sorry, Your joking right? Ah man, I don't know what to say to this, what do you say to this? Maybe Jeff Mills used to be good but I feel he's surpassed by the likes of Claude Young. Oh man your value. stop it please I can't laugh anymore. Jeff's too busy messing about making so called experimental tunes when he should be knocking dancefloor tunes together. I won't go on slating you anymore, I think Tom, Joseph and Alan ripped you up on this comment. How far must we keep 'pushing the boundaries'? We'll never stop! Dj Pacific:) ??? (313) Double Decking
few things have been bugging me. following from this post can someone, particularly alan, explain what can be done with doubles. When i have doubles, you get that funny faze noise Chorus or you can Eq different parts of each. but what else can you do? Your shitting me right? Pull one back a beat Scratch one in, on the off beat Then play about with fading from the above suggestions! i picked up bluespirit 2 recently. If you haven't got 'The Divide' you are missing out! (313) Re: bluespirit, misread (my bad)
My mistake before it is pointed out, I misread Bluespirit as Blueprint. Although I'd probably buy a Blueprint record over a Bluespirit record any day, well most days! Although, if you haven't got 'The Divide' by James Ruskin your missing out! i picked up bluespirit 2 recently. can anyone post a discog but also point out the general style of the label. one track on 002 is a deep bassline the other a hood style number. it's more of the other i'm after. talk21 your FREE portable and private address on the net at http://www.talk21.com
(313) 2 track EP's SUCK!
Just a thought, I'm not sure what anyone else thinKs, but I get really annoyed and feel somewhat ripped off when an artist realeases an EP with only two tracks (the two that broke the camels back today where the latest releases from Joey Beltram and KDJ, moods and grooves) Both Artist offer great quality and in fact both the tracks on the KDJ release where good, one of the Beltram tracks was a little weak, but the other was really good and fresh for Joey. however, I get the feeling that when an artist releases an EP with only two tracks on it that a) they don't have any other material or b)they're trying to cash in! or both! Technasia 'Genesis' Sino 001 I finally managed to pick this record up yesterday, from everyone's favourite record shop Small Fish. (they also have copies of 'Techno Rebels' I bought a copy, I suggest you do!) After hearing Derrick May cane this record and others, I finally tracked it down and didn't hesitate to purchase it. Quality techno, a possible classic in the making, we'll see! Cyclone is the track on everyones lips, or should I say in everyone's mind! (313) Lost: last Saturday Derrick May....
Appologies for the late post! Last Saturday was the second time hearing Derrick May in 3 weeks, however i preferred his set two weeks earlier at the Kozzmozz night! I arrived as Mr. Bicknell was half way through his set, it was the usual thing from the lost recordings star. I was eagerly anticipating the arrival of the Surgeon as I hadn't heard him mix before and was told that he wasn't that good. Mr. Child gave us some excellent records new and old, as well as some insights as to how they should be played. Although the mixing was good, there was some silly mistakes! Step up Derrick May still sporting that kinda afro thing he has going on at the moment. What can I say the guy is a genius, a top quality DJ I get the feeling May feels that he can play what he wants at lost parties. He played that 'tribal' track again, mixing James Brown into that and then a moodyman tune after that... The night on the whole was ok. Steve Bicknell was playing some whites by local talent, one of which is a close friend of a friend, so look out for a guy named.. Steve Bicknell still proves to be the lord of British techno, offering us the best in club and DJ. The surgeon proved to me at least that he CAN mix. And Derrick May what can I say he is the 'innovator' and is proving to be leading the way at the beginning of the new century! Thanks, WorkZ talk21 your FREE portable and private address on the net at http://www.talk21.com

Re: (313) technology eastern tour
Wow, this shit's gonna be bigger than Episode 1! It's great to see an event like this taking place, it's obviously taken some time, effort and cash to prepare, I'm sure it was hard work! Can't wait for the British leg of the tour(which is when, by the way?) A little curious as to the line, can't work out if like the mercury music award, the crew members selected are those needing the most spotlight (exc. Re: (313) mills worth it? or worhtless
Has anyone decided (now that you have had it for a while) that the newer Jeff Mills from Japan is *really* worth the $30 import price? Question is are any of the recent Mills releases worth it? I decided upon not purchasing Axis 19.5 but suckered into buying Tomorrow 001, both were thin on content or any really Mills quality! Don't get me wrong I'm Jeff Mills' second biggest fan after you, but you have to agree that Jeff Mills could sample his farts and people would buy it! The trouble is he's in a position to do what the fuck he wants to and there's nothing anyone can do! WorkZ

Can anyone tell me what Mike Huckaby is up too, has/is he releasing any records soon/lately? Does he play out much, if so what's he like? Whose BMG?.. matter of fact am I being stupid; But what does BMG stand for? Is it the same BMG as Damon.Zwirn.BMG whose on this list? Cos' I see this BMG a lot of places related to music, does it stand for a general term? Please help a slightly confused list member! TIA Laters, WorkZ
