i realy like this edit - but not all of it.
i really like where the vocals come in. the instrumental part of the edit i
don't like.
the reason i like it is that mixing into the original of 'once in a
lifetime' can be a bitch. and this edit leaves the vocal part pretty much
unchanged from the original but makes it easier to mix into and out of.
it's the best re-edit of once in a lifetime that i know of. much better
than the masters at work.

yesterday i picked-up a comp of old electro - 'bionic breaks' compiled by
boris dlugosh (sp?). never listened to any of his productions, but this is
a solid round up. half the tracks i already have - man parrish, hashim,
newcleus. but the other half are such gems it made it worth the money.
The Russell Brothers - The Party Scene
 Project Future - Ray-gun-omics
Davy DMX - One For The Treble
C.O.D - In The Bottle (vocal) (the instrumental is on a freddy fresh comp)
 Gary's Gang - Makin Music

Does anybody know anything about this?

As mentioned before, Moxie...

Does anyone else think this is rubbish?

Don't like how he edited it at all, not one bit.
How on earth they put it at number 1, I'll never know.

blah blah.

Boris Dlugosch has been responsible for some of the (semi?) seminal moments
in club music but also in that time he's been responsible for perhaps some
music which we on 313 would find amongst the worst kind of club music
produced.

He's only done about 4 EPs of his own but he must be in the 200s in terms of
remixes.

He's never shown any great allegiance to the stuff which we would find good
for the mind body and soul, it seems to me.

At least the tracklist of that comp seems to show some good taste.

Cos they want to sell it...i actually have this record, and bought it on
the strength of a rather awesome segment on the gino soccio side,
unfortunately it only plays once...waste of 20 bucks...its not even
really in time or tune in places...bit like some of the new delsin
stuff, I really don't get it...a lot of the new northern european stuff
is really good at being self hyped...

Yeah, but the Unabombers having nothing to do with it! They have no reason
to want to sell it.
That's why I said it..
B side is ace, agreed.
dunno what you're on about re. the delsin stuff, some of the best techno
around IMO.

I was reading an interview with the Unabombers (Electric Chair) last
night and they were asked what their top 5 records of the moment were.

In #1 position they listed Talking Heads - Once In A Lifetime (Carl
Craig Edit)

Does anybody know anything about this? I had no luck at Discogs.

I don't know much about the label, but they've put out some of the better
disco reedits of late. Up to number 5.

Cheers
