Re: (313) DJ BONE... ATTACKS - Week 18

Well I can't speak for Bone either. I've met him and found him to be a
nice guy, and his skills aren't in question. All I'm saying is that
it's not a stretch to interpret his comments as I did, as being more
about Bone than UR. And when you say stuff in public, how what you
say is interpreted is a concern. But whatever. I certainly don't want
to start a beef.

It's very good, especially the beginning where he's rocking doubles.

But sometimes, y'know, beyond that, what is there to say.

Not sure what to make of his spoken intro. Bone pays tribute to UR
and Mad Mike in a rather left-handed way. 'The time I played UR NYE
in the side room and everyone left the main room' and 'they asked me
to be a UR DJ but I respectfully declined.'

Which isn't to disrespect Bone's skills. The night he played in Iowa
City a few years back was definitely one of the finest nights of
techno we've had. Bone's mouth doesn't promise anything his hands
can't deliver, and there's nothing wrong with having a healthy ego.
But my friend DJ Earl-E once said I speak with my hands, and let
everyone else do the talking and frankly, that may be the best policy
all the way around.

i agree with you there. i wasn't fishing for 3rd party compliments.
it was just odd to me that that mix in particular didn't raise some
conversation -- not necessarily about it's relative quality as much
as about UR/Submerge in general
