More recently, that artist has moved away from the head-nodding BC
repetition vibe and cut out a more melodic vein - whilst still
keeping things stripped-down. Check out

D-Teck especially - it appears you can buy a downloadable version
from the label.

I recommend it, in fact

Go on, trust me, chuck 'em some money...

Will give it a good listen but I'm feeling the Frozen Border/Sandwell/
Horizontal Ground stuff more than this Ken.

Fair enough.

Recommend me a Sandwell District then Martin.

I don't know where to start with that lot and it's passing me by...

Well on Sandwell District:

Variance, Variance 3, Variance 4, Born Against and Violencia are good
places to start

Everything on Horizontal Ground, same with Frozen Border

(313) Echocord 39 Fluxion Induction/Elation

Just got this from Boomkat, liking it. A bit like the old Fluxion
but a little less hazy, more consciously melodic. What do others
think. Definitely something I could play out to good effect.

Ha, well you made me go back to listen to Subliminal State (Echocord
36) and I think Life Has Changed is incredibly deep and funky. It
has that weird percussion that sounds like someone whacking the wall
of a small courtyard with a broom...

Haven't heard this one yet...but if it is more melodic, then I will have to
check it out.  The last few Echochord records have really bored me to death,
including that Quantec release that received rave reviews.
