Is there a longer recording!

I recorded this right around 5PM in the courtyard of the building in
which Hardwax Records resides. Hardwax is on the 3rd floor of the
back building (2nd floor, European). At the ground level there's what
looked like a bicycle machine shop, so the primary sound heard is a
metal grinder. The bassy repeated sound is Hardwax' sound system,
 muffled through the window.

I normalized this, so it gets pretty huge sounding. At the time it
wasn't particularly loud, and you could hear church bells

Remarkable how much it ends up sounding like Pansonic or the like.

hi, just found this on the mnml.nl forum:

Hmm, that's an old one, might have been posted here a while ago but haven't
found it so there you go:

Tweak FM March 5h 2005

Saturday (Mar 5th) Tweak FM proudly presented the Hardwax crew from Berlin.
DJ Pete and René ,Soundhack and Bomber Harris visited the studio and played
lots of records for almost two hours in a tag-team-omania. DJ Pete and René
is mostly known from their common project Scion which has released on labels
like Chain Reaction and Tresor.
Each of them have also released records in seperate solo projects. DJ Pete
is known under his alias Substance and René uses Vainqueur as his alias.
Soundhack is known for his cut up disco like records on his own label and
also collaborates with his friend Errorsmith - together they form the act
Smith'n'hack .
Bomber Harris aka Jan is one of the most visible guys from the Hardwax store
as he takes care of the net sale of the records - he's the guy who replies
you mails when contacting the Hardwax store in Berlin. Besides that he's an
excellent dj who really likes to spoil the party people with huge vinyls!

Hello everybody!

I think the Hardwax records are all produced by Robert Hood!
The older ones are veeery hard! The best releases on Hardwax IMO:
Dr. Kevorkian-Aftermath (HW 005)
Missing Channel-submerged (HW 008)
Mathematic Assassins-Calculator (HW 009)
Robert Hood-Force of One (HW 010)

As far as I know the label still exists and robert Hood is releasing 12es
sparely on it!

I think it should be no problem to get them all.
Try Hardwax (the store! Has nothing to do with the label!) in Germany

[313] Hardwax info

2001-11-01 Thread Chris Rooney
Bought a Hardwax record at the weekend, no info on the label but the
inscription says 'H-Bomb' and 'hardwax002'
I think the a-side has the inscription 'Radar' is this Rob Hood? I read
some where that Mills had released stuff on Hardwax though and it sounds
quite like his harder acidic techno.
How hard are Hardwax releases to get? I think this is the first I've ever
seenis the label defunct?

Thanks

Chris

Yes, H-Bomb was done by Mills, and I would suspect the record might be worth
something these days. Some of the Hardwax records seem to surface
periodically (perhaps they are repressed?). But I've not seen that
particular one around very often.
