Halcyon records and Other Music for new I would guess.

A1 is my go to shop for used. You can do some serious digging there.

Academy Records and Good Records? Haven't been to either myself but have heard
good reports.

Sadly Sound Library seems to have shut and Gimme Gimme have moved to LA!

If you want to freak out, go to The Thing in Brooklyn. It's one of the most
remarkable digging experiences I've had. The epitome of crate digging you might
say.

Check this video out that I shot there (Paul - I think you'll enjoy watching
until the very end).

When I was there one guy ran out screaming because he couldn't handle the
chaos...

Every record is $2 though.

There was just something about the thing that on thump series by vice.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpagev=rZR4TLCAI9c

All the episodes so far have been pretty interesting.

As someone who moved here about a year ago I feel like I haven't even scratched
the surface of Brooklyn.

I haven't been to Academy yet. I mostly go to Halcyon and A1 for used and
L.I.E.S. releases ;)

Regards,

Ramon

You just have to dive in. Some people can't handle it though, like that guy who
ran out screaming when I was there.

It also smells a bit of dead cats. I'd advise wearing a dust filter face mask
if you're going to spend more than an hour or so down there. Worth taking a
portable record player too.

Not everyone's cup of tea, but I loved it! Found some good stuff in there,
including that Jamerson record on Happy Records that's in the video I shot.
