Hi 313, In trying to find what sample was used in the just released Jerry Lewis Mayday mix, I got in touch with Stefan Robbers, because I thought that or he was sampled by Mayday, or both used the same sounds/sample. Pls, see his reply below. I don't have my Relics here neither the sample doesn't sound obvious, so can you check yours Relics and see if you find something? It just can't be the Crackdown rmx... Of course the more interesting question is: what is the original sample used by CC? Take care, G - Forwarded message from Stefan Robbers - HI Guilherme, This is an old Carl Craig track, a short one that was on the Relics album if I remember correctly. They used the same sample for this remix. But knowing Carl very well, the first track was sampled also but I have no idea from which song... .. (cut) -Original Message- From: Guilherme M. This last song heavily samples (or use the same sounds you used in) your Mask EP on 100% Pure (check an mp3. sample here: http://mp3.juno.co.uk/MP3/SF189487-01-02-02.mp3 ). Have you seen it? In trying to find what sample was used in the just released Jerry Lewis Mayday mix, well, it aint first choice like I was blathering on about when I hadn't heard it properly. but, the bassline sounds really familiar. jt thought it might be one of the interludes from the innovator comp..? could be? Of course the more interesting question is: what is the original sample used by CC? for 4mypeepz? not sure! _ - End of message text This e-mail is sent by the above named in their individual, non-business capacity and is not on behalf of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. i must be the luckiest man on earth but since we luckily got nothing better to do.. but it still ain't an answer to the question if, and if so, which samples it contains? but as indeed Stefan Robbers' Validate track sounds a bit like it as well? but as that track was released two years after relics and as paperclip people samples pretty a lot and it sounds a bit like liaisons dangereus? ah well - ah well all good music - so can't be really bothered but nice to have that 100pure on the decks again now out to the next competition question, did derrick may ever use samples in his own prooductions as rhythim is rhythim?

No, for the bit in this Relics interval, used in the Jerry Lewis and Stefan tracks. But if this Interval 10 is like to others in the LP it might be just stuff May and CC did themselves... did derrick may ever use samples in his own prooductions as rhythim is rhythim? hmm, good question mastermind. I can't say I see/hear much evidence that he did, but then I'm not the best at spotting samples really. he MUST have programmed his drums though, surely, no one else sounds anything like him! I'll stick my neck out and say, nah, don't reckon he did. I reckon he sampled sounds (strings?), but not chunks of ryhthm like others do, (e.g. paperclip people). there are of course people on this list who could tell us! : ) _ - End of message text This e-mail is sent by the above named in their individual, non-business capacity and is not on behalf of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. I respect that. Correct there, but do you think the oscillator sample sounds enough like mantron's KOB to be the source? I really wanna know if it's the one. I was aware of the snap facts already, but I can't bring myself to believe that CC got it from there...don't know why, just doesn't feel right. It swings just like it though. You think? Anyone?

Of course the more interesting question is: what is the original sample used by CC? for 4mypeepz? Maybe not the original sample source, but this remix (and the original) sounds ALOT like Disco at the End of the Universe by Dirty House Crew. The snare is almost the same (if not the same), and the melody is even very, very similar... http://www.discogs.com/release/7812 Dense.
